It was just reported a few hours ago that Slice also had a very large mass present on his liver, which initially caused him some complications.

I never believed Kimbo was born 1974.
He looked at least 10 years older. I figured he was well into his 40s back in 2004 or '05 when I first saw him.
I reckon he was around 55 when he died.

If the reports of a liver mass causing complications are true then long-term abuse of anabolic steroids was probably a factor.
    That's sad and unnecessary.

Heart failure in an athlete, even if he was in his 50s, should be rare too. But I don't know his lifestyle.

Condolences to his family and loved ones. This is not the time to bring up his sins, guys. Respect his death and his family.

He was a senior in highschool during Hurricane Andrew in 1992, some people just look older than they really are. He has a son who also fights in mma who could pass off as 40+.

Kevin Randleman also passed not long ago at a similar young age from heart failure. Both guys were known steroid users. It's only natural to wonder if prolonged steroid use played a part in their demises.

At the very least, the extra muscle mass and heavy training puts strain on the heart, which if weakened for any other reason (genetic, etc...) will only make it worse.
