Have we ever seen anything like Vasyl Lomachenko?

A young and inexperienced pro fighter. Once again it's never good to jump to conclusions. He could completely fall apart when severely tested. Time will tell.

The only people that could severely test him are the types that caused Mayweather problems i.e the Castillo's, Maidana's, Salido's etc. whilst being significantly physically bigger than him.

    Hard to say.

He was the best FW kinda by default because Salido left the division and Russel went on to beat Gonzalez.

At SHAW there's huge fights to be made and if he can prevail and rule the division it'll tell us more about him.

We will see. You do not know a fighters heart or chin until they are tested. This is why experienced historians won't jump and call a fighter great until they see greatness.

 That was a sublime, virtuoso performance. Lomachenko just broke the record for being a 2 weight world champion in just his 7th fight, and in amazing style.

Agree completely. I was once a skeptic but he's become my favorite active fighter-- love his style.

He's a great slickster, turns out Lomachenko's favourite active fighter is Mayweather (not considering him as retired). We know he's going to be alright defensively if he has the same view as Mayweather, he said this recently about Mayweather's philosophy:

“Floyd Mayweather said the most important thing in boxing is defense,” Lomachenko said to the latimes.com. “I agree with him. I want to finish my boxing career healthy, and not get hit. The problem when you’re aggressive is that your opponent will land something on you. Mayweather, what he started doing, was work on defense to just win the bouts, not taking the chances and risks. That’s where he went .”

I can see that. He reminds me a lot of the younger 130-lb "PBF" Mayweather. :good Imagine how great he'd be with Mayweather's reach!

I don't like the sounds of that. I really hope he doesnt try to copy Mayweather in and out of the ring.

Why would Loma be better with a longer reach? His reach is perfect for his style.
Everything's always about Mayweather with you.

Ok, I am sold, Brother. I don't think too much of Martinez. But, that was a VERY impressive performance by Lomachenko last night. Clearly, he has made some adjustments to adapt to the pro game and sit on his punches a little more for added power. That knockout combination was a thing of beauty. I look forward to seeing his next fight.

Juan Manuel Marquez. But Loma is not as good puncher as JMM and his power definitely won't carry up in weight
