I haven't quit on Wilder completely, but I am very disappointed in him. Or at least his team. This is just a blatant step backwards. I'd rather them wait until the end of summer or even fall to fight and get a better opponent.

Arreola would have been a decent fight a few years ago, not now. I'd almost as soon see a Stiverne rematch so he could at least put to bed the excuses about Stiverne being sick and shut him up for good. But this Arreola fight is utterly pointless.

If Wilder has no control over his career, and he wants to stop gerring dogged he needs to take control of it

Wilder shouldn't be in this position in the first place. They stunted his growth by giving him far too many soft touches.

I gave up on him a long time ago. After he finally stepped up against Liakhovich I thought he was going to push on in his career and was rooting for him to succeed as who doesn't want a talented exciting young heavyweight on the scene.

But then he fought Firtha and then followed that with the debacle against Scott and then fought Gavern and that's when it became clear he wasn't ever going to be a heavyweight who would inspire the fans.

After he beat Stiverne I was for a moment foolish enough to think he'd step up again, but since then his opposition has been steadily getting worse. Wilder is the definition of a paper champion, he's been protected his entire career and nothing has changed.

And yes Arreola as an opponent is pointless, might as well charge to see Wilder sparring, it would be a similar experience. He had 2 months notice to arrange an alternative, Washington, Stiverne and Ruiz Jr could have all been possible opponents and even if none of them were available anyone in the WBC's top 30 would have been better, Mansour, Hughie Fury, Miller, Price, Whyte etc the list goes on of better opponents he could of fought that the fans would have more likely accepted.

I was against this fight but Chris, if he can get into Stiverne fight shape, can knock out the Wilder we saw against Spzilka, Duhaupas and Molina. Nothing to be scared of.

Nah Arreola is done. He is shot. Getting in shape won't help him at this point.

I think Arreola is a better choice than Gerald Washington, as Washington has shown me nothing. Arreola will give an honest effort. He is wayyyy past his best, wasting his prime, but maybe he will get lucky.

Can't blame Wilder. All we can blame is Povetkin's PEDS.
