Loma's got some PBF in that man.

Way to take a post where I'm hyping the **** out of a fighter seem like I'm insulting him. A guy who clowns people in the pocket, uses angles and lateral movement, and has hand issues has zero similarities to Calzaghe?

 

He has similar headmovement sometimes and he showboats the same, yeah. Definitely some similarities to Calzaghe.

 

Loma was a good student, he studied two of the masters, Floyd and Ali, and you bustas hate it.

Calzaghe isn't the greatest anything.

Watch some tape of him I beg you. His high output slapping style is not beautiful boxing. It's disgusting to watch, and doesn't resemble Lomachenko in the slightest. I really don't need to talk about his level of opposition or his utter unwillingness to SEEK challenges and how Lomachenko is the complete opposite in that regard.

 

Yep, Loma moving up to destroy a champion is eerily similar to how Floyd moved from 130 to 135 to so impressively destroy Castillo.

 

They're just in different leagues. I'm sorry if that's hard to swallow but it's the way it is.

I really don't care to get in to it. The eye test says it all. If you need more than that, records and accolades will only back up what I've said.

 

I see it as a backdoor route of glorifying an already overrated fighter. Totally unnecessary.

I can't think of a single thing Calzaghe does better than Loma, and I don't find their styles or attitudes toward the sport comparable. It's a just objection.

After all, someone who is as hardcore a fan as yourself should be able to draw tens, maybe hundreds more apt comparisons. I'd be interested to see people point out subtleties of Lomas game that we've seen from fighters of the past.

A lot of Floyd in him. The difference between the two in terms of style is the mentality. Lomo could fight defensive and out point every opponents in a lopsided decision if he wanted. Taking little to no risk......getting by on less of his skills and more of his athletic qualities, but Lomo is a highly skilled boxer who uses all of those qualities and athletic ability to enhance the skills he has and take more risk by being offensive. It puts him at more risk but it also produces some more exciting fight and spectacular outcomes.

Floyd can do all of what Lomo does but his thought process is first to avoid the dangers and seek the easy way to win, even at the expense of boring the fans who are watching.
