Breazeale would decapitate Washington, he'd smack El Gallo Negro around vigorously until he was limp as a noodle sprawled out on his back and drooling.:dead
Lol they both seem to be equally awful. I dont think either are any better than Martin. Why do I have the feeling that Anthony Joshua is going to fight Washington after .
You mean Gerald Washington who beat Chambers? I'd say Breazeale is better but that's not exactly a compliment. Washington is another US heavyweight who is massively flawed on a technical level, looking at Wilder, Breazeale, Martin and Washington it makes me wonder what is happening to US boxing at the grass roots level because all these guys are technically poor. Washington has a stupidly wide stance, his balance is atrocious and he has an even worse jab than Martin which I didn't think was possible, the guy struggles to throw a jab correctly. Washington's balance is so abysmal I'm surprised he can make it into the ring without falling over and knocking himself out, people think Wilder has balance problems, he's a tight rope walker compared to Washington.
Wilder, and Breazeale both started boxing in their 20's. No clue about Martin and Washington. So it's not a surprise that they are not technically sound.
No they both really suck, bad, and yeah I wouldn't doubt AJ has a match with Gerald at some point. He's starting to look like the new Bum Squad. Although any big guy with a decent punch could stop ol' glass jawed AJ, maybe even Trouble Breazeale (what a ****ty nickname:-().
None of them, just the term, I've never thought Brook's, GGG's or Wilder's opponents were total bums.
Shucks, I can clear that up for you: A) Boxing is not taught in any school. I don't think a boxing program is even carried in any college any longer. B) Most of the guys who take up heavyweight boxing take it up in their twenties after they have failed at basketball or football. C) You have to look hard to find a boxing gym, even in major cities. MMA gyms are much more common, presumably because they can find ANY type of martial artists or ex high school wrestler to teach them. D) The general pussified nature of 21st century American society. Hope that helps. As for Brezeale Vs Washington, neither are great, but both are big boys who have won some decent fights. Mansour was the biggest test for each (since Chambers obviously does not have it anymore) and Brezeale stopped him whiles Washington could only manage a draw, although Brezeale was not exactly dominant either. So basically, neither is much better than the other.
Solid post, I will say Washington DOMINATED Mansour for the first half of the fight before gassing and was never in serious trouble trouble like Brezeale was... DB was almost knocked out, he showed some guts pulling that fight out,. Oh how I long for American Heavyweights similar to the ones from my youth. Tyson Holyfield Bowe Old Foreman or Holmes Mercer Older Witherspoon Moorer Hell I'd kill for a Bert Cooper, Chris Byrd or Hasim Rahman lol
Hasim Rahman is a late starter who actually was able to beat a champion that started early. George Forman didn't start early either. Also always with the right wing BS in threads like this. The pussification of America? Kill yourself. Washington did better against Mansour than Breazeale but they are both about the same level. They are just big guys that are in the wide middle of the division.Washington is a bit better at fighting smaller fighters since he knows how to fight taller and both haven't showed they can fight somebody their own size yet.
Hell, I'd take Bonecrusher Smith, who was a big man, a hard hitter, had a good chin in his prime, and was a gentlemen to boot.
From what Ive seen Washington looks a bit better, but neither are great. Brezeale just always looks sloppy to me, Washington at least seems to punch properly
