In a boxing match, Ali would have his hands full against the prime Lenni. He doesn't have the power to exploit the china face.

But i believe he will definately come up with some novel way to get under Lenni's skin but what he would successfully say is anyone's guess.

The only thing Ali has going for him in this fight are his superior foot and hand speed. Lewis had very good Ring IQ but Ali had even better ring IQ.

Maybe a replay of the Ernie Terrell fight?

No. He might have beaten him but I doubt he would intimidate him. Lewis was too arrogant and too big to be intimated by most fighters.

But then again facing someone like Ali is a completely different story. Foreman felt like god during his prime and he ignored Ali's taunts having full self belief and confidence he could destroy the guy with his punching power alone.

Once he was in the ring and saw his punches having no effect at all on Ali and Ali just responding with more and more taunts, it was just a whole different ball game altogether. Same would potentially happen with Lenni.

I think that Lewis was too cool headed, and wouldn't have bit.

Interesting how "styles" make fights. Frazier basically bull-dozed forward against Ali, while Norton's style immediately made Ali about 80% efficient.

Ali should outpoint LLewis, but Lewis might bruise up Ali like Bob Foster did to Ali with his sharp jab.

Nope. Lewis was one of the smartest boxers of our time.

He'd see what Ali would be trying to do and let him waffle on.

Probably not intimidate him. Ali really did not intimidate frazier or foreman either, if anything he made frazier fight harder. He may have frustrated foreman into unloading all he had early. He was just a funny genuine guy with a lottle of confidence and ****yness. He was not really a guy who would do everything he could to intimidate opponents like Mike Tyson. Of course he would try to throw them off their game plan a little bit, but he was not that much of a manipulator and did not depend on intimidating his opponents. He just had a big mouth, what made him special was he was funny and had more than enough to back his talk up.
Besides that lennox was a pprofessional, he did not seem scared of the two guys who knocked him out in the rematches, rather he did better.
Now what aalso matters is which ali we are talking about here, it is alot easier to get discouraged when you couldnt hit your opponent.
Ali lost his legs and became much easier to hit later on.

Lennox was perhaps too boring as a personality and as a boxer for Ali to come up with any susbtantial material to bait him with.

Either way, Ali slaps him around the ring, boxes circles round him, chops him up.

    This.

What I would have liked to have seen was Fury vs Ali.

The fight would have been irrelevant but the pressers could have sold tickets.

Agreed,...cool headed, intelligent and somewhat like Ken Norton in that regard, who also wasn't affected by Ali's bulls h i t. I also think that he would have been just as effective, if not more so than Norton vs Ali.

Ali would have felt silly, IMO, when all that **** he pulled had no effect on Lewis....like it would against a Rid**** Bowe for instance.

Lewis is far from intelligent, being able to play a board game isn't a sign of intelligence I'm afraid.....
