Who had a better chin, Lewis or Foreman?

I would give Frazier an 8.5, Dempsey an 8.0, Liston a 9.0, Ali a 10
Tyson an 8.5 Louis an 8.0. Holyfield 9.0

No exact, but something along those lines.

 

Lennis chin deserves no more than 5.5

 

Am pretty sure the 2 guys who voted for Chinny Lenni are VanBoxingfan and Eddieboy. Predictable.

 

Foreman takes the shots by Rahman & McCall that ended Lenny with ease.

Unfortunately Lewis was koed twice by single right hand punches. He avenged both of them which is a huge check in terms of his ATG status. The fact he was koed as he was however is a black mark on his record. In contrast Foreman was only stopped once and the man who stopped him is pretty much universally considered the best hwt ever. Plus George was stopped after absorbing many many right hand over nearly a eight round period.

It's no contest. Foreman had the far better whiskers.

 

Avenging defeats against avg fighters should count for nothing for lenni. It is not like he avenged a defeat from the likes of an Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Norton etc. Just a loss to the likes of McCall and Rahman should be a huge black mark itself.

In defence of lewis i have to say that unfairly joe louis got the false crédit for "having "a much more decent chin,louis did not have better chin than ken norton

Wrong. Coming back to beat, totally destroy, fighters that beat you is a sign of ATG attributes. It is very unfair to knock Lewis down for being koed twice with one blow and alternatively not give him any credit for having rematches and stopped both of these opponents. One side does knock him down a few pegs while the other absolutely boosts his ranking all time.

Joe Louis was and is given a ton of credit lasting as he did with Schmeling taking blows from one of then boxings hardest punchers. Fleischer who was at ringside stated there can be no more talk whether Joe could "take it" after this bout.

 

Joe louis got dropped and hurt even by a barman and sorry but schmeling is not even a top 50 hardest punchers,lewis would put his face and would tell max"c mon land your best shot little kid"
