Groves doing very well against Kessler before the Froch / Kessler rematch, with Froch getting the hump because he felt Groves should have been patriotic and refused to help a fellow Brits opponent......

There's quite a few about Groves actually, apparently he's been put over by both Callum Johnson (prior to Froch) and Ryan Aston (prior to the Degale fight). Then as mentioned above doing well against Kessler and Golovkin. Spencer Fearon said he witnessed Groves put GGG over whilst out in big bear, but we also heard that GGG put some harm on Groves ribs.

Who was the lightweight that Ko'd Hatton before the Pac fight? I remember him talking about it in an interview but never said the name.

 

Don't know about any light welter dropping him before Pac, but I know Lara put him over.

 

Never heard that about Brewster.

He'd have had a legit chance of beating Lewis circa '02/'03.

 

At the same camp, Valero supposedly sparred Juan Lazcano and utterly savaged him, literally running Lazcano out of the ring.

 

Since there's lots of over exagerated Valero sparring stories I love the fact there's great footage of Morales making Valero look bang average in sparring.

Oscar De La Hoya sparred with Julio Cesar Chavez back in 1991 or 1992 -- it was definitely before the 1992 Olympics. Oscar was giving up 10lbs to Chavez and was hurt by a body shot early in the session, but hung on in there.

I'm pretty sure this story was mentioned in Donald McRae's 'Dark Trade'.

 

And then there's the recent story of Errol Spence drilling Adrien Broner in sparring, and the sparring session being immediately stopped...

 

No its there for all to see.

 

I don't think it is, buddy.

I've watched that and Valero wobbles him and toys with him at times.

A good few years ago when Amir Khan was boxing at light weight, a friend of mine got the chance to spar with him for 3 rounds.
Khan completely out classed him but in the 3rd round my friend caught him with a tasty right hand and put him down, he got straight back up like but khan was full of praise for him.
