Why Hearn won't get this quality of opponent for Brook is just baffling. :-( Well, at least he seems to be getting it right with Crolla.

Much easier to get Linares to travel to the UK rather than one of the top Welterweights, Linares will be relatively cheap because he doesn't sell out shows on his own.

is it because Crolla is the money fight at Lightweight? Zlaticanin not that well known and doubt travelling fanbase from Montenegro. Linares - boxed in US but based in Japan and doubt big travelling Venezuelan fanbase. Barthelemy - maybe, don't know much about his fanbase. That leaves Flanagan and the whole Wazza issue

Flanagan aside, Hearn can prob offer more than they are used to and a bigger event.

For Brook. Thurman, Garcia etc all big names and big egos. Reckon they will have all the demands if they fight Brook and Hearn is used to getting him good money for easy defences

Yes, I guess it's down to money in the end. At least Linares is taking the plunge and coming over here, like he did with Mitchell.

I like how MainMan01 managed to say the same thing in one sentence whilst my fat thumbs were scrawling across the keyboard

Another thought if the Welters have the egos and they can all sell tickets. Why don't the promoters get together and do something different - Dubai etc

The Skysports article mentions Linares being stripped of the WBC belt, ZLaticanin winning the vacant WBC belt and then Crolla v Linares being a unification for the WBA and WBC belts all in the same paragraph. I like boxing and even I'm like eh? What must casuals think? Boxing really doesn't help itself sometimes.

Anyway forget the belts, its just a good fight. On normal Sky Sports as well!:bbb
