Ward's only option is to run like Hopkins did and just survive and go the 12 rounds. If he tries to engage he is getting KOed. So he will lose every round or get KOed in brutal fashion. Ward has to pick his poison.

Ward doesn't need to do that he's far more complete than the version of Hopkins Kovalev beat. He can smother Kovalev's power on the inside or fight him on the outside with his superior reflexes and the ability to dictate distance. Not saying this fight will be easy because Kovalev is very good but Ward can beat him this is almost a pick em fight to be honest.

I think if Ward were more active (assuming at or near the same level as his super 6 days) then I think it would be 60-40% Ward at worst

For the record, I agree that the thread title is unnecessarily provocative and I will be rooting for Ward against Kovalev, although I feel Kovalev is actually the slight favourite due to his power.

 

Unless he was doing it in Chiraq, where only 26% of homicides get solved.

Besides, he's got honky money now- millionaires don't do hard time for violent crimes. Their lawyers just get filthy rich :good

 

I think Ward/Kovalev is the best fight that can be made in boxing right now.

I am excited to see that fight and doubt either guy will really dominate the other.
