Golovkin vs Lara @ 160, Man these rumours may be true, GGG will silence his critics

U notice how hbo approved dom wade? Would hbo approve that fight and use it in their shrinking budget for any other fighter? The answer is most likely no way....and they put it on free hbo weekend so they can get even more people to watch (i know this isn't reflected in viewership numbers....so don't go there people)

Hbo is trying to sell exactly what isal described .....and some of u are buying it ..because u crave it...u crave that package...u need it....when pac got duffed out u lost it....and u need it again .....any other guy trying to pull this would be getting hammered for it .....that's not even debatable

 

I think most boxing fans agree with large sections of your post, however the key difference is the reason why GGG is not getting big fights. Is it because:

a) the top MWs are avoiding him?

or

b) he is too scared to fight anyone good?

My impression (along with the majority of the boxing community, it must be said) is that it is more a) than b), which is why I generally defend GGG from his critics.

 

I lean more towards B. There's a reason why he said Lara brought no money then in his very next fight he fought Boxcino champion Willie Monroe Jr. He took the way easier fight.

Put a list out....Lara jacobs saunders Eubank ..I dunno add another couple of guys.....surely one will bite .....instead when he can't get what he wants he'll settle for an alphabet mandatory ......he can't afford to sit and wait.....he need to make something...anything...of relevance happen

Fair enough, I realize some people will have different opinions from mine on this. We don't usually get the full story, just a ton of propaganda from promoters/trainers/fighters. I just ask that the discussion is kept polite and reasonable rather than insults and trolling.

An obvious example of what not to do is to start 21 threads about one (1) boxer in a short period of time. @Shockmaster, you do realize there are other boxers to discuss?

 

When u mentioned Rosado in response to the "get in line at 160" line Lil g fans say....."well that was 3 years ago and Lil g was just getting used to america"

I could almost buy that....till u realize that it's 3 years later and the level of skill and notoriety of Lil gs opponents hasn't increased yet

 

It'd be hilarious when GGG knocks Lara's head off though to see all the backtracking.

Why? You'd prob be suprised ....I'd say it's a step in the right direction and prob the best fight he could have made,.....but you'd prefer t johnson or heiland

Because that's what happens when you're that vested into hating a fighter. It becomes more and more difficult to admit wrongs and easier to just move the goalposts. It's not like this is something unusual with the boxing fans.

Its none of that imo. I think the reason he doesn't step up is because of what I said, HBO are milking him, as is K2, and the rest of his team.

They really aren't doing GGG many favors imo. Money comes and goes but legacy is cemented, and GGG's legacy is lacking a lot.

GGG needs to take control of his career and stop trusting the suits.

Remember when GBP asked Canelo to recosnider Trout and Lara, Canelo insisted on those high-risk/low-reward fights and his stock started rising considerably.

We've seen DLH, Mayweather, and Cotto take control of their careers and things have turned out BETTER for them.

Are some MWs avoiding or have avoided GGG, sure sure... But its not like he is opponent-less, again there is Lara, Trout, CW fights, and even young prospect Eubanks.
