A couple spring to mind for me. 1. Quarry engaging Frazier in a slugfest, when he was a very good counter puncher. 2. Hagler "boxing" Sugar Ray Leonard, instead of using his strength and body punching to bully Leonard. Any shockers that you remember?
Foreman shooting his wad early against Ali. Leonard electing to punch with Duran in Montreal. Berbick slugging with Tyson.
Meldrick Taylor's last round or two vs Chavez where he went toe to toe...though he often had brilliant strategy earlier in the fight.
Dela Hoya running in the last 3 rounds versus Tito Gatti trying to outbox Floyd Bradley going toe 2 toe with Provodnikov and Manny Norris going to war after being hurt by every punch from Simon Brown.
I didn't see the Brown-Norris thing coming before the fight. It seems like more than a few have tried to box Mayweather. Sent from my Lenovo B8000-F using Tapatalk
Maidana vs Mayweather I - Maidana has a case for a victory if you take any two major Floyd fans scorecards as they differ on which case they award to Maidana. Maidana unnecessarily made it a close fight by swinging even after he had already definitely had rounds in the bag. All that did was made him lose stamina across the stretch which Mayweather capitalised on (Maidana has a reputation of losing stamina across the stretch).
Algieri-Spence. Algieri could have given Spence problems by boxing and using foot work instead of standing toe to toe.
Vernon Forrest trying to out-slug Ricardo Mayorga in their first fight instead of using his superior height, reach , and skills to outbox Mayorga.
At that stage of his career and life yes. Even worse, going in completely unprepared Sent from my SM-G925W8 using Tapatalk
Broner vs Maidana. Broner placed his faith in the in the shoulder roll defense. Yet he couldn't block an overhand right to save his life and got clipped with continual left hooks.
