Very impressed with his devastating win over Roman. Should he avenge his loss to lowblowlido or move on? I say get vengeance.
I am not so interested in the rematch. I will watch it but I am not crazy about it. Salido always gives a good fight. But I have the feeling he is already going down hill.
A lose-lose fight for Loma. Loma should win but Salido will make it ugly. It will not be a dominating fight for Loma. If Loma loses then he will lose the momentum he's built since losing to Salido. Nevertheless, Salido is the most intriguing matchup as the first fight was close and we can gauge how much better Loma is.
Lomachenko doesn't think Salido will even touch him in the rematch, and I agree. Loma read Salido like a book and given a few more rounds, he would have knocked Salido out. I predict a late KO or a dq win for Loma
This. I truly believe that if Loma/Salido 1 was 15 rds, the verdict would have rendered a W in Vasyl's favor. In the man's 2nd true pro fight, and I think the he could've won a rough, gritty, minefield of a 15 rounder against a vet, and light welter or whatever he was fight night Salido. Good sht.
Rematch is HBO'S way of selling a shot fighter as a viable opponent. But if that's what the sheep want.
Don't forget, Salido did not make weight and was 15-20 pounds heavier than Loma. If Salido makes weight he won't be able to absorb the punishment as well or throw his weight around like the first fight. In my opinion, if he made weight the first fight he would have lost!
Salido should be the obvious next option regardless. He always makes good fights and there is the revenge thing. Good for sales. It will help build the fan base before the really important fights.
Vasyl's key is in the legs. Just like Manny Pacquiao, Vasyl is alway in better position than his opponents. That is the best way to be able to hit with max power. It also takes power away from the opponent. Another thing he does good, but not nearly as great as Floyd is the switching from defense to offense. Floyd is the master of that trade and is thanks to the pad drills he does with Roger. Floyd block, hit move, hit, block, hit. The transition takes less than a second. Saying it is easy. But many boxers can't throw when they are blocking. Transition takes them between 1-2 seconds while Floyd does it in less than a second because he doesn't have to think about it. The drills have cause muscle memory. For Floyd is like a reflex. One good example is Miguel Cotto. The way he blocks punches doesn't allow him to counter very fast.
