I am a big wlad Fan but its clear why he didn't let his Hands go. Fury was extremly akward, feinting all the time and faster on his feet and faster Hand speed + longer reach than wlad. Thats the reason why he didn't let his hands go. Imo wlad only Chance is to open up and not to Box fury and KO fury. Imo fury cant ko wlad, fury is a pillow puncher.

I think it was just a perfect storm of problems

Mind games, the injury postponed and possibly effected the training camp, day of the fight ring arguing and distractions

Then Fury made Wladimir be the aggressor, he moved and feinted well, and Wladimirs corner didn't get desperate. Imagine steward like Lewis vs Tyson or Taylor vs Spinks. He wouldn't have let wlad continue to fight so poorly

At the end of the day it's not as if Fury did all that much either, he wasn't doubling and tripling wlad in punching and never had him hurt

I think for these reasons Wladimir may win a rematch, the official cards have wlad about 4 rounds, imagine if he actually punched, I mean Fury has hit the canvas and if wlad throws more he may get him. Also can fury be in the same shape with the same focus

I think banks may be the key piece here, can he really get wlad to another level this late in the game

Because he held on for dear life for 70% of the fight.

He'd hold whenever he was in the wheel house. That has nothing to do with age. That's been his main method of offence and defense for the last 10 years.

Take his holding away and you reduce him to nothing.

Fury is HORRENDOUSLY under rated on here, the fight was really boring but was a masterclass from such a big man. He was continually feinting, and given he had the reach advantage to get off first, Wladimir was continually being thrown off by the feints, so not letting his hands go.
To win the rematch, Wladimir has to be prepared to exchange fire, and he won't change the mindset of the past 12 odd years in one camp.
Wladimir could take Fury out, no question, IF he is prepared to accept he's going to get hit hard regularly, to hit Fury hard enough to flatten him. He has to take risks and I can't see him doing it.
But I see an exact replication of the 1st fight playing out.

I agree with all of that except I do think Fury can knock him out.
I don't think he will, but he's a 250b fighter who if lands 3 or 4 clean on Wladimirs chin its over.

This above. Spot on for me.

Wlads whole personality is to be careful. You cant just change who you are.

Should never have taking the fight the first time round with someone with the longer reach decent movement etc. He would have been knocking the smaller men out till he was about 45.

Got the feeling that if steward was still around he wouldnt have taken the fury fight. Like most people on here klitchko banks etc grossly underrated fury.

The fight will be decided on what tyson fury turns up for me. And not what wlad shows up

By all rights, I should be giving Wlad the edge due to his power alone. One good shot and he will have Fury in big trouble. But I can't fight the fight for him, he has to be willing to leave it all in the ring, and early if possible. As everyone else has said, the bigger question should be which Fury shows up?

I think Wlad was hoping (as was I) that Fury would tire and gas out in the 2nd half of the fight. And he was waiting, and waiting and waiting. And Fury never really gassed out, just a bit in the 12th.

I agree with this. Team Fury did well to shake Wlad by standing up to and overcoming the unfair advantages Wlad is used to getting away with in Germany.

No, I don't think Banks can do anything for Wlad, he's not a real trainer, Wlad won't take directions from him. This time he'll know the BDB and his buddy BDB president Thomas Putz won't be able to protect him either. Wlad has to do this on his own.

Wladimir coasted thinking he'd be able to get the home town decision and it back fired. This time he'll go for broke. Wladimir KO.
