Test might be the wrong term, as generally speaking anything can happen I the ring, but I am thinking in terms of a step up in talent where a top young talent is expected to struggle. With hindsight we can evaluate it differently and determine if that was a test or if it was perhaps another fighter. Form example, I am thinking Tyson's first test was Tillis. Tillis was not supposed to be a test. He was brought in to be slaughtered and was a 10-1 underdog fighting in Tyson's backyard. And Quick's form the previous 5 fights had been horrible. But his chances going into the fight were on par with the Marvis Frazier's chances. Burial Bill Cayton and Jacobs did not believe much in testing their fighters and took a different route with their guy's on the way up.
