NOT a gauntlet. Over 12 rounds. Assume 1978 Duran who beat Dejesus for the fights at 135 and 140. Duran that beat Leonard for 147, Duran that took Moore's Heart and soul at 154 and Duran who fought hagler at 160My opinion is in parentheses.
    vs Pacquiao at 135 (W TKO 7 in a Hearns/hagler type war)
vs JMM at 135 (W UD 12 115-113 in a chessmatch with spurts of action)
vs FMJ at 135 (W KO 11 to the body or L MD 12 depending on how well FMJ cn take Duran's bodyshots)
vs Whitaker at 135 (L SD 12 too slick)
vs Hatton at 140(W KO 3, brutal and exciting)
vs Gatti at 140 (W TKO 6, more brutal and more exciting)
vs M.Taylor at 140 (W TKO 8, Duran starts to overwhelm him much earlier than chavez)
vs JCC at 140 (W TKO 10 on cuts, duran ahead 87-84)
vs SRR at 147(L TKO 6 if Duran tries to brawl, L UD 116-112 if Duran tries to box like he did vs Hagler)
vs Cotto(pre margarito) at 147(W TKO 7, exciting)
vs Mosley at 147(W SD 12 is my best guess, very close)
vs ODLH at 147(W RTD 10)
vs Trinidad at 147(W TKO2 or TKO 10, if Trinidad survives his early shakyness it gets interesting but he still gets worn down)
vs Mayorga at 154(W TKO 10, fun to watch but very brutal)
    vs Alvarez at Caneloweight(155)(W UD 12 117-111)
    vs 2001 Hopkins at 160(L UD 12 116-112)
vs GGG at 160(W UD 12 116-112 if Duran stays smart, L TKO 10 if he tries to brawl)

Hagler was a better boxer than GGG, was younger, had a better chin and was a southpaw and Duran was still ahead after 12 and was edged over 15. Watch Hagler vs Duran, if you know enough about boxing you'll be amazed at all the little things Duran does to offset the physical disadvantages. If Duran is on his A game he can get a decision. GGG has not faced anyone close to Duran in terms of boxing IQ and experience, I can see GGG getting confused and frustrated. If duran tries to be Macho he will get beat up badly yes. But boxing is not always two freight trains colliding and the bigger stronger one wins.
By the way The Duran that beat Barkley was 6 years older than the one that fought Hagler, In addition Barkley was a natural LHW and a MASSIVE puncher who landed every punch in the book on Duran!

Great job disproving my argument. Very informed, detailed response and you totally explained what made you come to your conclusion.
    Please answer these.
Who has GGG beat that remotely resembled Duran?

How many times have you watched Duran vs Hagler and Duran vs Barkley?

Would you have picked duran to have been remotely competitive with Hagler?

You, as someone who i assume puts alot of value on physical strength and punching power, would you have picked duran over Barkley and Are you aware that Barkley went on to win championships at 168 and 175?

Did you see what Duran did to Davey Moore and Are you aware that Davey Moore was a good puncher and HUGE for 154, probably bigger than GGG?

Yup we agree on a lot i guess but i think he stops pacquiao
because both will come to rip each others heads off and something gotta give before the final bell.
Do you mean he maybe stops cotto late( l8 ) or loses in 8 by stoppage to cotto

Personally I think Cotto doesnt make it past 8 looking at the torres, corley and judah fights. But im a big fan of cotto and have been impressed by his chin at 154 and 55 vs Mayorga and Alvarez. Cotto at 154 would go 12 with duran and it would be competitive too

Maybe not with duran losing a decision but I said duran gets TKO'd if he tries too hard and he said he gets knocked out if he goes for the win, but if duran fights smart like he did against hagler he has a chance to win a close decision over 12. do me the favor and answer my questions in the previous post

Like you keep talking with respect i will give you my motives.
Duran was a natural lw,he was a big puncher in his natural weight class, at welter was mediocre and he could not break an egg at 160, his capacity to take a punch got worse also in higher weight classes,he did beat barkley cause stylistically he was no nightmare for Duran, golovkin hits harder than hearns h2h so tell me how is Duran taking this pressure ,work to the body and heavy hammers to the head from a guy that naturally is a 180 pounder and made kovalev quit in a sparring session ? Duran at 160 was well above his natural weight and he would get tired much faster,he could not run enough to outwork GGG who is as fast or faster, stronger and hits harder than Duran at 160. And your point of hagler vs Duran is crazy, hagler was winning clearly and if he fought agresive he would have stopped Duran early

GGG is not a natural 180 pounder. He did not make kovalev quit, i saw the interview by abel sanchez. Kovalev most likely didnt want to hurt him lets be honest. Hearns does hit harder than GGG. He was a genuine 1 punch KO artist, GGG wears you down.
If hagler couldhave stopped duran early why didnt he? Is it because maybe Duran had enough power to get his respect? Hagler was a machine i dont think he just felt like taking it easy on Duran. I sure as heck wouldnt pass up on the opportunity to be the first man to knock out Duran. Duran knocked barkley down hard and almost stopped him, I dont see how he "couldn't crack an egg" at 160.
It looks lie we'll just have to agree to disagree about Duran's ability at 160 and thats fine.
I think Duran can steal enough rounds to MAYBE get a decision over 12, maybe not. But yes if he tries to actually FIGHT GGG he will be stopped

Golovkin vs Duran would cause me to spazz out. Contro makes a good argument for Duran. My natural inclination is to say there's no way Duran beats Golovkin at 160, because I don't really consider Duran as a natural 160 fighter.

But. But he had a competitive match against Hagler and did beat the much bigger Barkley who was some good.

    So... :conf

No way Gatti lasts longer than Trinidad. Tito had the height, range, strength and power to keep Duran honest and greatly trouble him. I think Tito may suffer a flash knockdown but I don't think Duran could stop him early.

Trinidad suffered some flash knockdowns early in fights but I never saw him badly hurt at 147 lbs.

I see this as a distance fight, with Duran possibly outworking Trinidad for a pretty close decision.

Also, I think Duran/JC Chavez is a better matchup at 135 lbs. Chavez peaked at 135 lbs.

I think that fight could go either way with a close decision either way or a draw the likely outcome.

I feel Whitaker was indeed too slick for everyone in his generation at 135 lbs, but Duran's constant pressure and strength could possibly get to him by the late rounds.

I'd pick Duran to come on strong and win a close decision over Whitaker.
