You watch any boxer @ 70+ with 1000's of rounds under their belts they don't look like normal 70 year olds to me. I know 40yo's that are slurring their speech like James Toney and I don't think they were hit with 1000000's of rabbit punches. They were hit with regular punches which still do damage any way. Legalizing rabbit punching wont increase rabbit punching IMO, it will probably lessen it or at least make for less clinching.
:rofl He had to fight a guy his own size and froze because Maidana traumatized him for life. I like Broner but he is only good at knocking off B and C class fighters. He could have actually beat Porter had he boxed.

I remember a fight between two low level heavyweights on like ESPN or something from a few years ago. Arthur Mercante Jr flat out told the clinching boxer that if he didn't let go he was going to let the other boxer rabbit punch him. He actually told the boxer being held to foul his opponent several times. Mercante Jr. refused to break up the clinch because that is what clincher's are relying on as part of their tactic. He didn't have to go that far, and I'm pretty sure he got in trouble for actually inviting boxers to fight dirty, but a lot of the clinch work would be spoiled if the refs refused to keep breaking fighters up. The order to "punch out" of a clinch would solve a lot of this; because the clinchers are just trying to limit their exposure at close and mid-range. They make a bodyguard out of the referee who escorts the more aggressive fighter back into long range distance. Take that deal with Marcus Browne vs Kalajdzic two months ago. What a farce. If the ref hadn't been in Browne's pocket, things would have been very different. He was calling slips knockdowns against Kalajdzic, not calling legit knockdowns against Browne, allowing Browne to hug like an octopus, and I think he even warned Kalajdzic for something. Clinching is as much a problem of poor refereeing as it is a ****ty tactic by crummy boxers.
It finally bit him in the ass after ten years of doing it when he fought Fury. It works for the taller man who can pot shot from outside. The smaller man has to fight on the inside. Klitschko tried to fight like he usually does, against smaller opponents, but this time he was smaller and was smothering his own work. He should have been working on the inside, pounding the body, but every time he had the advantage with distance, or made a quick lunge to get in range he tries to tackle Fury? His tactics made absolutely no sense that night.
Agreed. Klitschko just has no clue how to fight a taller fighter. Which makes sense since he's never had to.

I meant when a fighter is hurt it's there natural inclination to hold. When he does this he would get hit by a barrage of rabbit punches. Those rabbit punches imo would lead to long term injuries, which we don't want in boxing.
