You have shown time and time again that you care more about cheerleading and jocking old heavyweights than learning anything from people with opposing views who know far more than you about various topics. You know next to nothing about Sharkey but have the gall to call people who criticize him "ignorant" and other names. Do you realize how ridiculous that makes you sound? The criticisms of Dempsey, some of which were legitimate, pale in comparison to the criticisms and allegations I mentioned about Sharkey above. Instead of having the humility and common sense to look into the facts and history though, and risk having to face uncomfortable questions about certain old heavyweight legends, you more or less dismiss than out of hand. We would have gotten much further into the facts already if you had been interested in learning more about them instead of dismissing the criticisms out of hand because they reminded you of things people had said about Dempsey and you know that some people consider Sharkey to be an ATG heavyweight. You may have thought that your response was informative and useful, but I found the ****ogy obviously and completely off the mark, given the many stark differences between Dempsey and Sharkey, their careers, and even their critics. I gave you facts about Sharkey, which you failed to address other than by dismissing them out of ignorance, in my initial posts discussing what I've read about him. I can't help it that your cheerleading bias gives you such strong knee-jerk reactions to dismiss uncomfortable information rather than to investigate and learn from it. If you genuinely want more insight into why his skills and boxing iq pale in comparison to Norton's, I'm sure there is a wealth of info available online and in past threads in this forum. PS - Worth repeating again that this whole back-and-forth began when you ignorantly accused a more informed poster of being ignorant for criticizing Sharkey, when you know next to nothing about Sharkey. How about Corbett at 188 pounds, the same weight as Garcia who upset Norton? I think Norton wins here. He's taller, as a much better reach and unlike David, Tua can really box well. Norton beat Ali at least twice on a fair score card, and IMO would have TKO'd him had the 1st fight been 15 rounds. In fact, Ali once called Foreman, begging him to fight Norton because he said he could not beat him. Lucky for Ali, the judges could.

Yes. I heard of that on the HBO's fight game. They spent the entire time on Ali and had Foreman and others speak. Foreman, who was bitter that Ali would never re-match him received a phone call. It was Ali, asking Foreman to fight Norton because " they are going to take away my title if I don;t fight him and I can't beat him " Ali was right, he could not beat Norton in the thrid fight However the politics and bad judging did it for him. After the conversation the two became friends.
