Picking B class basher GGG over a boxing top 10 ATG who proved himself at middleweight big time (and that's an understatement) shows how pathetic and biased you and like minded clowns are.

Kevin, I've watched as much of GGG than anybody posting on this site and I'm a big fan, but the bottom line is right now he has not shown his talents vs anybody even close to elite level. The GGG love on here is quite frankly embarrassing.

But what have you seen in these Golovkin fights that leads you to believe he wouldn't be able to beat Duran at 160? When I watch his fights, I see a fighter who has all of the tools necessary to beat Duran up en route to a stoppage or wide UD.

You can't seriously think that it's "pathetic" to pick Golovkin over Duran at 160. And surely you admit that Duran is far from an ATG at middleweight? Golovkin has skills, smarts, and power, and he dispatches legit, solid contenders in ways they've never been dealt with before.

PS - I don't think it's an understatement at all to say that Duran "proved himself big" at middleweight by winning a close, somewhat controversial decision over Barkley and getting generous scoring against a Hagler who never really pressed him or tested him. Legit showings, especially for a little guy, but let's not get carried away.

    Good post :good

Yeah I'd actually hate to see this fight because I love both of these guys. I have a feeling Golovkin may be too big for Duran.

His competition isn't great, but what he does to them is something only the greats can do.

GGG doesn't live in a time where welter's or jr middles want to move up and fight him. Heck, the lineal middleweight champion vacated his belt to avoid him.

To quote Sun Tzu a brilliant war general and expert on human behavior

That pretty much sums up how good GGG is, doesn't it?

Cool. Any thoughts based on anything you've observed in his actual fights (since you've seen so many of them)? What do you think of his skill set and attributes as a fighter?

N, I am going to ask you a question and hope you can respond thoughtfully ?
Let us say a Marvin Hagler for example was born the same time as GGG
and started his career about the same time as Golovkin. He then by coincidence had to fight the exact same opponents due to what MWs were around as GGG has up to this date. My question to you is wouldn't you be uttering the same opinion' who of note has he fought today to rate him with the greats of yesteryear " as you do now with GGG ?... I'm sure you would say the same thing "who has this guy Hagler beat to compare him with the smaller Duran " ? My point is after watching boxing ringside from the 1940s on, I feel that every so often a baby is born with certain innate qualities that upon maturing
allows him to develop unique skills in the Ring that transcend the
type of opposition he faces like today. Common sense dictates that and in GGG he brings into the Ring today rare qualities seen too rarely
and he would thrive in any era my experience tells me. GGG is the real goods and would more than hold his own in the era of Hagler and whoever else of yesterday...Enjoy his rare talents as I do...

Anyone can look great over C class opponents. When he steps into the ring with a top fighter and keeps up this atg look then he will get his due respect. You can't honestly think GGG is an atg can you? When he gets offered a fight with a super star he refuses! It wasn't fair terms but that's boxing. GGG said he could go down to 154 for Mayweather but can't go to 155 for Canelo? It was an 80/20 split so GGG is making over a million anyway. The greedy fvk! Can't you see why he makes ridiculous demands? When he gets exposed by an A level fighter he won't be able to get a fight with another top level fighter to save his life! He only wants a pay day. Doesn't give a fvk about boxing.

The idea that he has some obligation to go down in weight (to take on another middleweight champion no less!) is absolutely outrageous. Being willing to take a chance at a sub-optimal 154 against a much smaller opponent for a once-in-a-lifetime payday is a completely different set of circumstances.
