    1 - Joe Louis
    2 - Muhammad Ali
    3 - Larry Holmes
    4 - Rocky Marciano
    5 - Jack Johnson
    6 - Mike Tyson
    7 - Lennox Lewis
    8 - George Foreman
    9 - Jack Dempsey
    10 - Joe Frazier
    11 - Evander Holyfield
    12 - Sonny Liston
    13 - Wlad Klitschko

Not sure where to put Holyfield. Incredible career but never a dominant reign. That's #1 for my ATG criteria. Wlad unfortunately will break my Top 10 and most likely pushes #'s 5 and onwards down a spot.

Of course. Tyson had a much better career than Foreman could even imagine.

Foreman: 8-5 against world rated opposition.
Tyson: 19-4 against world rated opposition.

Foreman might have the better win(s) but Tyson's resume is far, far deeper than Foreman's padded career(s).

Not with only 3 wins and 2 losses to rated opponents.

Dominant reigns are weighed heavily using my criteria. I can only think of Joe Louis, Ali and Larry Holmes (slightly) as having superior reigns as champions. Lennox Lewis is about even. And Holyfield couldn't put together more than a 3 fight streak with wins and losses littered through out his time at the top.

Foreman has Frazier, Norton and Moorer as incredible wins with a substantial drop off in competition for both careers.

There's no crime in ranking Tyson above Foreman. Before his prison stint nobody ever picked Foreman to beat Tyson legacy wise or head to head.

Top 5 is a push. Foreman has a very padded resume, which is often overlooked.

His top 5 wins are certainly as good as any (Norton, Frazier, Frazier II, Lyle, Moorer), but once you get past that, the rest of his record is just shockingly mediocre.

The difference of course is that Foreman proved himself as having ATG attributes.....will to win, heart. Tyson unfortunately fell way short in this category quitting in several bouts and quitting mentally in others. Tyson does not rate as highly as he could have specifically because of this very important criteria for all time greatness.

Spot on. He's very thin on the ground. Jimmy Young beating him comfortably at his peak doesn't help much either, and his first career ended on this. Anywhere 6-10 for mine.
