So we can all agree that Brook looked better v Porter than Thurman

Holding , mauling , clinching for deal life.

Thurman boxed a better Porter far more impressively .

Brook strategically held at times. It wasn't excessive, and we saw tonight how important not letting Porter rush in and push and maul is. Brook boxed a brilliant fight, controlled the range with movement, set the pace, landed sharp counters all fight, and was the better man even in the three rounds I gave to Porter. Of course Brook looked way better than Thurman.

 

Brook is physically bigger and stronger than Thurman. Many times Keith was trying to push Porter back, or tie his arms up, and simply couldn't. Considering his limitations he boxed very well indeed.

I would pick Brook vs Thurman though.

 

True. Porter is as strong as a bull, and Brook is one of the few welterweights who matched him in strength. That's part of why Brook was able to box Porter better than Thurman did.

 

Thurman fought much more aggresivily against porter so in turn took more punishment which i would give him far more credit

Thurman's lack of a jab last night was odd.

It's like he was daring Porter to come inside, so he could try to catch him with a big left hook on the way in.

Risky strategy which takes some nuts against a cannonball like Showtime, so props to him.

 

Brook was fouling more in their fight and took less punishment,Thurman tried to make it more clean,as if it was possible with Porter charging in every time.

Overall both fights were 7-5 against Porter.Shame because hes good fighter but too small for 147.

Thurman also came off a long layoff. Brook vs Thurman is a good match

 

First thing is first, Porter has improved a bucket load since the Brook fight. Secondly Brook held Porter so many times and really should have been deducted points and warned. Thurman hurt and stunned porter several times, Brook barely did, Thurman barely clinched and fought on the inside outside, backed porter up and won clearly by 2-3 rounds. Whereas Brook barely beat Porter. Thurman clearly had the better performance, Brook just fights bums these days.

 

The Truth. Credit isn't given for excessive holding.

Brook won an MD. Coulda went either way.

 

No, Thurman fought a clean fight, Brook showed the meaning of excessive holding. Even with all the wrestling Brook got away with it, i still thought it should've been a draw.
