You want to know why its absurd? Because you are the only one who thinks Foreman didn't hit his prime yet. The truth about George is that he wasn't going to get any better than he already was.

Are you claiming he hadn't reached his prime yet? Because if you are you're the only one hanging on the branch all by yourself.

Inventing a lie? A boat load of Foreman fans claim he was never the same after Ali scorched him. I don't believe this is true but most Foreman fans do. Posts are littered throughout ESB's history.

Most heavyweight primes occur in their mid to late 20's. Turning 30 was considered past it by most boxing experts. With the invention of HGH heavyweights are lasting longer in the ring.

He should be 3rd. In all honesty he is not that far from Ali. Really he is not.

Yes he was knocked out by Ali. But Ali was given brutal fights by Frazier and Norton.

    Foreman squashed them like bugs.

They were stylistically all wrong for Ali. They were stylistically made to order for Foreman. When did Foreman overcome someone who was stylistically all wrong for him like Ali did countless times.

Well Herol G wrote that I was spot on in contri #78 when I wrote that:lol:. I don't remember anyone else on this thread writing the contrary. So much for being on the branch by myself because at least one other person agreed with me.

Quite frankly, it is obvious that it is you with the comprehension skills. You have proven nothing, which I guess you find difficult to understand. I understand your contris just fine, especially the you're going to put me on ignore part. So, if I write absurdities and have comprehension issues, why do you keep responding to my posts when you said you would put me on ignore?

then they aren't fans they are of the kliturd type for foreman - nutcases.

whislt he likely wentthrough bad times briefly after his loss to ali, he wasn't post prime at all he was merely in the act of recovery. the difference between that and being on a 30something slide is obvious.

Fans don't claim he was past it after ali.. or how on earth can they claim he orchestrated such a mammoth comeback. He still had it, he just wasn't with it for a year or so after getting dethroned - fighters veer off their path for a short while all the time.

NO. Most BOXERS primes occur in their mid to late 20s.

Hws tend to be exceptions with their primes coming a little later, up to around 30.

though yes turning 30 was considered a turning point, based on physical evidences, true, every year after 30, physical losses are a progressive pattern in populations according to mid20th century studies..

Foreman coming back to win the true championship gives him top five ATG status. Nothing like that has ever occurred in any sport. Credit has to be given for an unpresidented achievement. Prior to this George does not make the top ten. He was an unfinished book.

I dunno, people get into atg rankings for being unprecedented but should it guaranteed them top five status. Tyson was unprecedented too, title at 20, hesnot top five. Patterson was tysons equivalent for that feat, hes barely an atg.

maybe I make him top six now though.

    how do you know?

I am not sure you can lcaim for what you've not seen.

on the other hand by extrapolation of the vast record of HW careers, Clinton CAN make his claim with some validity.

I love Big George. But I think just ouside. He never dominated an era, and whereas his resume is outstanding on the top end, it is also pretty shallow.

    Frazier (twice)
    Norton
    Moorer
    ****ey
    Lyle

Everyone else: Cooper, Qawi, Stewart, Roman, Chavulo, Wepner, Rodriguez, Schultz, etc.

In addition, he lost the biggest fight of his career.

I have him at 2. Besides a prime Ali, there is no-one in the history of hw (and non hw) boxing who is a favorite against 24yo Foreman.

There are some alltime greats who might beat him. But name 1 fighter (not Ali) who is a clear favorite in a match with prime Foreman.

Some may place more skilled fighter above Foreman in this list, but its about the total picture. His insane power in both hands, his iron chin combined with a very agresive style are just to much to handle.

Ken Norton, perhaps a peak version of Frazier, etc.
