ESB poster: "What would you say if GG beats Canelo?"

You: "I would say: Congratulations on beating a JMW and ducking Ward"

    That wasn't a joke.

It proves that you wouldn't give GG an ounce of credit if he was to beat Lara.

I'm from Nottingham and have done a fair bit of business with Carl Froch over the years

Early 2015 there were rumours he was having one last fight at the City Ground, Nottingham

Couple of months earlier Froch had pulled out of a fight with Chavez in Las Vegas claiming an elbow injury

He wasn't injured. His head wasn't right at the time. His brother had serious personal problems in the midst of Froch's training and allegedly had attempted to commit suicide on more then one occasion as a result and it had badly affected Carl, he couldn't sleep at night and his head wasn't right so he called the fight off blaming injury.

Hence a couple of months later there was talk of one last fight in Nottingham.

Froch wanted a big name to come over and fight as he needed some motivation to get up for the fight. I witnessed a conversation where Eddie Hearn had said its not that easy the big names want way too much money to come and fight in Nottingham

But Hearn had got a good deal to bring Hopkins over at which stage Froch's exact words were

"I'm not fighting a fookin fifty year old in my last fight get me a proper fight or I'm packing in"

I witnessed for myself that the guy could have accepted an easy last payday but didn't want to know. You have to give him credit for that

When i asked him why he said he needed a challenge to get himself up for the fight. Which I understood entirely.

You can say what you want about how good he was and who he could have beaten or not but all I can say is that when he packed in back then it was down to Hearn not being able to get a big enough named fighter to come to Nottingham for the right money

The guy was a warrior who rightly or wrongly backed himself to win tough fights in his head at least

Who was on Froch's shortlist? Chavez Jr.'s name seem to get thrown around a lot but I can't see how that would have motivated Froch. He'd have been expected to tune him up pretty easily.

It's interesting that ggg fanboys refused to list his 3 best wins. It's that embarrassing to talk about it. ggg will continue to get ridicule until he gets off the bumlovkin can crushing tour. He's Martin Wallström on Mr Robot finding bums on the street to fight.
