Not by accomplishments or longevity, but when he was at his absolute peak no one was better. He could do things no one before him or since could. The most gifted/talented fighter ever with the greatest reflexes you've ever seen. It's a shame he stayed in the game too long and people forget what he was because of all the ko losses he suffered

At his peak he threw his left hook faster than some top guys could deliver their jab.

    That just didn't happen.

It's a shame what's happened over the last decade.

If Roy was in his prime now, there'd be 10 threads per day about him on here.

Breaking news! Active fighters are discussed more than fighters who haven't been good in 15 years.

    Really?

    Ha!

Yeah, I know mate, and deservedly so.

I'm just looking at the hype surrounding the likes of GG and Kovalev and taking into account social media etc.

If Roy was 25 now, every boxing fan would be discussing him on a daily basis.

    He would be huge.

The casuals would be creaming their pants over the Kelly knockout.

That certainly is true. But a large part of that would be because of his country of origin.

Yea like Hopkins who didn't lose another fight for about 15 years and Tony who was undefeated ranked #1 p4p. Those guys were total cans
