You can be athletic and still be a plodder

He can afford to be the plodder when he's the one doing the attacking and knocking everybody out...

You don't know what you're talking about.

He is a plodder and no stupid comparisons to the NFL is going to change that.
Not being a plodder is somebody who is fleet of foot. I wouldn't call Wilder fleet of foot , but he is a lot more mobile than AJ. He continuously circled around the ring against Sitverne .
AJ has never shown such movement because he is simply not capable of it.

Yes , he is a very smooth and fluid puncher , but so is 44 year old Shannon Briggs. That man is only able who walk in baby steps.

The quickness and athleticism you speak of does not relate to his movement. Fury is multiple levels above him in that deparment but i never hear people like you compliment Fury on his level of quickness and athleticism

Yes you can. People have no clue what athleticism means in relation to boxing. They base it purely off aesthetic

You mean he hasn't needed to, the man is a beast and is the hunter in the ring just like Joe Louis was and he's arguably the greatest heavyweight of all time.....

I wouldn't call Joshua a plodder but I wouldn't say he was a good mover either.

From what we've seen so far he's kind of like Wlad in regards to movement. Looks good at first as the movement required to control distance in minimal due to their height and reach but when forced to really move whether it be constantly on the back foot or laterally is lacking and kind of predictable.

Maybe Joshua hasn't had to really show us how good his movement is like Kovalev prior to Hopkins, but I suspect movement is a flaw in Joshua's make up as a fighter. Not a plodder but far from fleet footed and elusive. I guess we'll see when he steps up and someone either really pressures him or they force him to really chase an opponent.

Joshua's feet are rooted firmly into the canvas. Wlad is more mobile , but not by much. I wouldn't call Wlad a great mover , he isn't able to consistently use the ring ,but he can bounce on his toes when he needs to.

Go back and watch AJ vs Whyte. The guy was stepping around like a Mummy.
He has no bounce in his step whatsoever. Nor any swift lateral movement.
He fights in a conservative manner much like Hopkins did when he was nearing 50.
Very fast hands , but the was a number of times he missed right hands by miles against DB because his foot work was so slow. He's almost the very definition of a plodder.
