Arreola has looked less than stellar in his last 3 outings to a ring.He even looked like a totally shot fighter at times.Yep! You are right! The Arreola fight is a horrible match up at this point of Wilder's career.I mean he has beaten countless taxi drivers,janitors and part-time bouncers as well as some shot names and Stiverne and Duhaupas,the last two ones the best names in Wilder's fight record.Molina and Szipka are decent but nothing special at all.A very poor fight record for a reigning champ who has cancelled his encouter with the first big name he was going to meet inside the ring.Instead of Povetkin he now fights the very limited and shot Arreola who would lose against all 4 last Wilder victims(Molina,Duhaupas,Szilpka,and Stiverne). Truly a very poor choice by Wilder's management! He could have fought someone like Fedosov at least.
It's a terrible match. No way around it. And if you follow PBC you know Al Haymon has been trying to set this fight up for 2 years only Arreola is to shot to bits to ever close the deal and win without a gift. So this current situation gives Haymon a very poor excuse to force this "fight" on the public. Bad for boxing
These are the kind of fights that turn the public away from boxing. They willl see an obese, drugged up pot smoker who hasn't fought in almost 2 years beaten to bits inside two rounds. That's not sport, that's not entertaining. That's a farce.
Good for boxing because the fight is going to be a barn burner for how long it lasts. That's what the casual boxing fan wants to see. I think some haters are afraid that Arreola's pressure won't phase Wilder, so how is he going to lose to these other fighters. So there you go, a reason for this fight to exist, folks need to see different aspects of Wilder's game and you'll have to come up with something else to insult him with.
They been trying to set this fight up. I dont think arreola earned it. But to wilders credit its not his fault povetkin failed. Arreola as of late doesnt throw many punches like he used to. Hasnt looked good sense seth mitchell. If arreolas in shape fights hopefully not b chubby n gain sum speed
