Is Brook-Vargas actually going to happen?

Would that really help though? Less people know him/give a s**t about him in the US.

We'll see but Tbf there isn't really much realistically available is there.

Anyway the Vargas fight should be happening and Spence is expected to become Brook's mandatory soon so the chances of Brook fighting some reasonable opposition are looking okay.

 

No idea but the plan was to end the year with 2 ppvs (brook & joshua) but obviously the golovkin fight has come up so thats added to schedule

 

That's unfair on Brook. Vargas has been offered $2m for the fight. He would get nowhere near that fighting anyone else. Kell is taking way less money then he should be earning to try and get the fight done. Calling kell greedy is simply not true.

As for fighting in the states. Nobody is willing to put up the money to make a big fight happen.

 

All those saying Brook should move to America? Why? I don't see how that changes anything. Hearn is a saying they have offered Vargas $2 million. Now I'm sorry but if Vargas doesn't take the fight then there isn't much else Matchroom could do. Vargas won't get anywhere close to that fighting someone else.

If brook went to America no American promoter would put up that kind of money either.

Brook represents risk and the fact his willing to take less than Vargas for this fight suggests he wants the fight. I just don't think many want to get in the ring to fight him.

 

Because nobody wants to travel. That's why he should move over there.

 

How does that solve the issue of fighters not wanting to fight him unless they are well rewarded?

Who would be putting up the money for a fighter who has no foothold in the states, isn't a draw in the states?

I have no doubt they would sign him but how much would they pay him?

If Hearn has offered 2mill to Vargas and he has said he has signed what is prob then ? Is it hearns greed to have 3 Ppv 1 brook 2 Joshua 3 Ggg. Y not put two together at a massive venue cover cost etc

 

Brook vs Vargas is not a Ppv fight in uk or USA period unless had crazily good undercard but it won't. I am fan brook but he needs to get Hearn to get bigger fights than he has delivered if that mean takin a chance 40-60 purse vs Garcia Thurman etc do it or even go America. Fight berto Guerrero build name force fights rather than fightin Kevin bizier who was as bad as Charles Martin

 

Garcia was offered huge money to fight in the states and he turned it down

 

Vargas hasn't signed yet. He has signed to fight kell yes but The agreement between top rank and matchroom still needs to be signed.

Vargas needs a good excuse to turn down $2m.
