i resoect your opinion / but i have my own opinion / its tuff to gauge bowe and joshua because at age 25 bowe was the heavyweight champion ...even thou joshua is the ibf champ i do not consider him to be the champion because he did not beat the man who beat the man who beat the man ...but ill say this after 17 prof fights joshua has fought better competion ...big deal bowe beat lionel butler ...big deal ...at least anthony joshua foughtthe man who beat him inthe amatuers ...bowe ran from lennox lewis ....bowe looked great in 2 fights as a pro ..against evander holyfield in thier 1st fight and against jorge luis gonzales and thats it /
Wow.. Interesting how a thread like this produces such fondness of guys like Garing Lane, Mike Acey, Anthony Hayes, Art Card and an 0-1 Lionel Butler. Charles Martin ( for as bad as he is ) would have plowed through that roster in one evening.
Bowe never fought Jackson so mention of him is moot... And that obscure nobody version of Butler ( who went 6-10 before FINALLY doing anything ) would be breakfast for Martin and Brazeale.
He's still better. Even the 0-0-0 version of Phil. Butler is Butler . He's he is better by default of existing in a greater era , not even mentioning him beating better boxers and looking better on film. Steve Souski was better than DB.
Joshua is a great and legit prospect, he's been guided very well with the right opponents... I've seen him make adjustments when things got tougher like with Whyte and Breazeale, he has everything to make it big... Let's wait for a few more tests and maybe a big fight before this comparison...
