It showed an amazing level of commitment to fighting at the 02... ;)

On a serious note, let's not pretend this is something this isn't. This is a shameless cash grab by GGG.

How can you read those words and simultaneously say BJS is available to fight.

BJS - not ready by his own admission.
Jacobs - not ready. Been mandatory for ages, if he wanted the fight it would've happened.
    Canelo - embarrassed himself
CEJ - embarrassed himself, or his dad did at least.

You're right Brook isn't a good look, but GGG needs to fight and the people he needs to get in with him don't want it. It's plain as day. To call this a cherry pick is ****ing absurd.

Now this is true. But don't pretend he chose it over meaningful fights. Can't fight anyone worthwhile, might as well make some cash and get some exposure. No?

He dropped negotiations with CEJ like a hot potato when Hearn dangled the Brook fight. :tired

No, they refused to negotiate with the Eubanks and picked Brook. Turns out Hearn has been talking with Team GGG about a Brook fight for the best part of this year.

I think other options were potentially open to him. He chose not to give them any consideration once he saw the Brook payday. That was his choice.

LOL I didn’t say Saunders was available to fight, I was just letting you know that he apparantly was given an offer to fight Golovkin, but said he wasn’t offered enough. (that’s him saying that, not that I’m justifying it) Apparantly now BJS wants to be the on undercard of Canelo vs Smith. He’s obviously not ready, and he seems to be making excuses not to fight GG.

I don’t see how Canelo embarrassed himself. The guy has proved himself time and time again, and never backed down from a fight. He didn’t say he wasn’t ready like BJS said. He’s agreed to fight GG in 2017 even though he’s never fought at 160.

I think Canelo is getting a bad rap because of his association with Oscar and because of him fighting Cotto. Lets separate the fighter form the promotor and the belts shall we.

Like you said, Jacobs has been the mandatory for ages, unlike Canelo he’s actually been a Middleweight for ages, and held that title before Canelo beat Cotto. It’s what makes the whole MW division so ridiculous. And you got to add someone to that list:

Golovkin : EMBARRASSED HIMSELF by choosing to fight a welterweight instead of Eubank Jr, who unlike BJS, was a MW who actually wanted the fight.

    :rofl

Wait...wasn't there supposed to be an agreement in writing that Canela would fight GGG after one voluntary defense each? And instead he gave up his title??

It makes me believe the fight isn't going to happen.

I believe Hearn in blaming Eubank Sr.

But to think he couldn't fight a MW is absurd. The reality is this is the best money fight for him and he wanted the paycheck.

The problem is GGG fans have slated Canelo for taking fights paying him more money and now they are defending Golovkin doing the same.

The level of hypocrisy is ridiculous.

What middleweight could GGG have fought that wouldn't have been derided?

Canelo avoided his biggest money fight to make a **** fight.

GGG made a **** fight because his biggest opponents avoided him.

Completely different. You know this is true.

Jacobs, Lee, Quillin are all ranked MW fighters.

Lara, Charlo, Andrade, Trout are all ranked LMW fighters.

Maybe could have faced a mandatory.

Just like Canelo he's gone for the high reward low risk fight. Which is fine for him to do cos he's the one risking his life to put bread on the table. But as a boxing fan I don't understand those slating one and defending the other.

Both are **** fights. Fans shouldn't be defending either.
