Ward will box Kovalevs head off

Ward schools kovalev . However I would love to be proved wrong .

 

Let's not blow this out of proportion.

Has anyone ever looked good against Chilemba? No.

Does Chilemba have a great chin? Yep.

It was silly when people were writing Ward off and it'd be silly to write Kovalev off now. It's still as 50/50 a fight as I can think of. Kovalev will have no doubt learned a great deal from s****ing through that fight.

 

I still really believe in Kovalev in this fight. Styles make fights, and Ward's featherfisted billygoat style won't work against the Krusher. Although he was very old, Hopkins is the closest stylistically to Ward out of SK's opponents. I also get the strong feeling that Kovalev was pretty badly prepared for this fight, and still won relatively comfortably against a good fighter.

 

Kovalev will rearrange Andre Ward's face, one off night due to other distractions doesn't change that.

The fight was too easy for Krusher and he it looks like he prepared for an easy fight.

Agree with Terry Fibbs though - Ward could school him.

I think it's a jump to use this to solidify the idea that Ward will win this comfortably; it needs context.

1) Chilemba is actually a decent fighter, who rarely if ever does anyone look good against
2) This was Kovalev's first fight back at this arena where the guy he fought sadly passed away as a result of injuries sustained in the fight
3) Adding to the above, it was his big homecoming fight and there was much more pressure on him to perform than usual.
4) Let's not assume the Ward from 5 years ago is definitely going to show up

That said, Kovalev looked tired from around the 8th and pretty ponderous on his feet. Wherever that was poor tactics (looking for the big right hand too much) or a lazy camp, I don't know. I would have put Ward as slight favorite for me, this doesn't really enhance or deter that in my eyes. But props to Chilemba, I think if he fought Stevenson like that he'd win.

 

I've always believed Stevenson would have knocked Kovalev out but he hasn't got the ***** to fight him.

How did anyone believe kovalev would beat ward in the first place. They have always been 2 different levels.
