Kovalev did go somewhat easy on Chilema - that being the venue of a previous, tragic fight and Chilemba being a stablemate and stepping in for the fight. Plus, Kovalev wanted a good sparring for Ward. However, Sergej also underestimated Chilemba, especially his determination to put himself under the spotlight and earn future title shots. A combination of several factors and his post-fight interview showed Kovalev has drawn some realistic lessons from this fight. My guess is this also served as a wake up call and would do him good for the Ward fight. And yes - I think Kovalev will win decisively!

Hard to belive Kovalev going soft on anything... lol

Dude is a killer & he would have pulled Chilemba's heart out if he could.

Issac just had the skills to survive & Kova gassed a bit.

if ward loses, you'll be nowhere to be found. your one sentence comments about bums contribute nothing anyways.

yes. he wants ward to build his confidence and not chicken out of the fight. i don't even believe ward will fight kovalev unless i see them in the ring together during fight night.

Why are people acting like this is not plausible. Obviously there is nothing to back this up, but it's very well possible. It's also very well possible that Kovalev did not have a good training camp and was sick.
