do you believe in PPV fighters, or PPV events?

Everyone wants to become a PPV fighter, but isn't the event what really makes or breaks the PPV sales?
Do you as a fan lay down PPV dollars to watch a specific fighter, or do you pay within the context of the super-fight?

 

As a creature of habbit... I fuggin' like to watch fights on a Sat. Night.

If the event is good & has some good quality matches/card on it that's all that matters to me. I'll fork over the $$.

For instance I'm still 50/50 if I'll scoop the TC vs. Postol card...

 

I'm old school. I think only certain megafights or events should be ppv.

Exactly! Putting a fight on PPV just because of the purse demand is a $hit reason.

 

If you're against PPV's you're against capitalism!

 

I have no problem to pay for a super fight or a mega card but like somebody already said, I hate when they put a ****ty fight on ppv just because of the purse demands!

 

How does that work?

 

The event. If I think the event is worth paying for then I'll buy it. I'm not gonna pay just for a certain fighter.

 

PPV has made boxing less popular and fighters obscure to casual fans.

it has helped elite fighters bank balances to the detriment of there legacys and recognition outside of the hardcore boxing world.

 

This. A PPV should be reserved to fights like Manny-Floyd, not just every other fight that's half decent.

I only buy events with fighters i like, usually Canadian and EE. Buying Postol's ppv and definetly will get GGG's next one, unless he fights another welter. Will buy all of Lomachenko's and Kovalev's ppv too.

I used to get Tyson and Lennox ppv back in the day but then grew bored with HW once those two retired.

I stop bying ppv fights if the fighters get too big and no longer need support. Didn't buy any Floyd or pac fights since 2009.
