Canelo created his own weight class to dodge Golovkin, his mandatory. He paid step aside money. He trash talked GGG, publically challenged him.... and then when he was cornered he vacated the belt rather than face GGG. He went back down to 154, where he is killing himself to make weight. His final words were that he wanted to fight GGG "as soon as possible". So he's fighting Liam Smith, of course.

Golovkin has fought all his mandatories, period. He has chased fights in divisions higher than his natural 160 weight.

The question of Khan / Brook is on the face of it comparable, but on deeper scrutiny falls apart.

Canelo actively chased Khan and made a fight with him, knowing full well Khan's chin is the finest grade talcum powder.

Golovkin had already signed to fight Eubank when the Eubanks decided to play games with Hearn (their own promoter) and the fight got shelved. Brook was propositioned by Hearn as a replacement for Eubank and Golovkin went along with it.

We have to remember that GGG is already old in terms of a prizefighter. He doesn't have the luxury of hanging about having a fight a year because people keep stuffing him around in negotiations. I don't blame him for saying OK, better Brook than nobody.

I believe that he will still fight Eubank if CES can keep his monstrous ego in check.

everybody expected canelo to do that

ggg let us down with his cowardice

GGG was begging to fight Canelo, if canelo didn't lose his *****, ggg wouldn't have to destroy Brook.

lol lots of sensitive GGG fans I see.

I gave both options and didn't lead anyone to make a choice. Don't be mad your new hero is fighting a less proven 147 pounder than amir khan.

Barring any fighter.:deal Any man who gets into the ring for a living is no coward regardless. PBF fought in 5 weightcalsses against elite opposition beating most of them with ease he's no coward if he was he wouldn't be in the sport of boxing he'd be behind a keyboard calling pro boxer's cowards from the safety of the net.:hi:

 you're the sensitive one. Look at how you taken the poll results so far.

You thought you'd make a poll and because Canelo has ran away to fight the weakest champion at 154 and that's all sort of settled and Brook Vs Golovkin is fresh in people's minds and because nobody is really happy about he fight you obviously thought the majority would hammer Golovkin.

Nope, Canelo bragged, boasted, said he "didn't F around" and then handed his jewellery to Golovkin and ran way. Mexican boxing legends are calling him a coward, pro's the world around are calling him a coward, boxing fans around the world believe he is a coward.

So don't get all lemon because the fact is Canelo will always be the bigger coward between those two because he ducked Golovkin :good
