Leo has been saying that he will attempt to make it a war from the first bell....but....but....he says he realises that if this doesn't work for him ( in itself an amazing admission IMO), he is ready to use his height and reach and box at long range, jab jab, right hand.

I have confidence Carl has the better faster harder jab. He proved the quality of his jab against Gonzalez.

Leo is being very respectful of Carl here.

Usually when someone talks up a war they stand off them and box. That's what I expect Santa Cruz to do but I could be wrong mate.

Leo waffles a lot in interviews, but he consistently says he respects Carl's skills and power.
That said he also consistently fights all his fights one way...and it ain't boxing at length.
    Hard to say.
He says Carl's opponents show him too much respect and are afraid to throw, but it can't have escaped him that there must be a reason for this. Why are all these tough guys leery of throwing against Carl once they are in the ring with him?
Leo has got a lot of mileage out of Carl getting dropped twice in the first by Alejandro Gonzalez Jr. He says he won't hold back if he hurts Carl like gonzo did etc etc .
in my view Gonzalez is a Top fighter, who hits too hard for his own good and is plagued by hand trouble as a result. It can't have escaped LSC how well Carl recovered and pretty much cruised to victory.
Also, remember Cazares? Carl crushed him.
"Mexican warrior" machismo stuff aside, you can be sure Leo is working on a plan B, if his usual approach ain't working.

Yeah....too much emphasis on one lousy round imo. Carl won ten rounds well. Plus he crushed cazares. And avalos. That's three " Mexican warriors" wiped out and people are obsessed with one crummy round.

Carl can do this....with a bit of luck.

I really hope Jazza causes an upset tonight. Doubt it very much, but wish him the best.

If Rigo gets old overnight and loses then Carl, Leo and Scott will all be absolutely kicking themselves tomorrow.

Rigo impossible to work with or make money with. So I doubt any of them will be bothered. Anyway rigo will win easy.

You don't think they'd want a win over Rigo on their record? Get a grip Len.

It's a win that would hugely improve anyone's CV. If you want a lasting legacy then you need such names on your ledger. The main reason none of chief rivals at the weight have fought him is that they don't think they could beat him. The last guy who thought he could was Donaire. Since then...

We're back to the old story...." Boxing is a business" Rigo just ain't good business sugar.

Anyway he ain't finished ....someone might get his scalp yet. But not Jazza..

I don't think Jazza has a chance either but that's not the point. All of the guys who should have fought him have fought for less money than they'd make against Rigo in the not too distant past and will do again.

This isn't really about money. It's a lack of confidence on their part. Let's not pretend it's about anything else Len. They're not the first fighters to duck a unpopular but talented opponent in order protect their records.
