Brook favourite against every 'GGG' opponent? Really?

I don't know where this originated, though I know Curtis Woodhouse tweeted it pretty much as fact, which is mind boggling.

Golovkin's calibre of opposition is routinely down played, purely because he's demolished them all seemingly in third gear. There are some guys on that record you'd fear for Brook against. Curtis Stevens and David Lemieux, both one punch KO merchants at 160, would certainly start big favourites against a 147 pounder with absolutely NO form north of that weight.

Martin Murray is a granite hard man who, apart from Golovkin, has given hell to everybody he's fought, including huge at-the-weight 168 pound George Groves. It's insulting for Kell Brook to say he'd beat a guy like Murray.

I understand Kell must back himself to win, but underplaying career long 160 pound guys like Brook and his supporters have been doing smacks a bit of delusion more than self belief.

Maybe it's because Kell destroyed a man he got beat by.

A decision over Shawn Porter that was arguable. At a weight 13 pounds south of the one Golovkin has dominated for years. I give credit to Kell for showing nerve that Alvarez, Eubank and Saunders all lack, but backing him on the basis of fantasy won't cut it. It denigrates Golovkin as much as anyone he's fought.

That was in reply to the claim Brook beats Lemieux.

I know Tezza. I'm saying that all it can be based on is a close decision win at 147. Still looking forward very much to the 10th of September though!

Kell Brook would be taken to hell and back by a prime Martin Murray (I think he's past his best now after a lot of wars).

Remember Brook was taken to hell and back by Carson Jones.

For the record I think Lemieux is vastly overrated and I feel both BJS and CEJr would beat him.

IMO GGG's best opponent is Willie Monroe Jr and he would school Brook in the ring at 160 (dead srs).

I don't think they're trying to downplay Golovkin's opponents, they're just saying they rate Kell that highly.

I wouldn't say Brook would be favourite over all of GGG's opponents but he would have a decent chance against most of them including Stevens and Lemieux. Murray would be a real struggle for him imo.

Based on the fact that Lemieux has lead feet and can easily be outboxed

If you think Porter beat Brook by 2 rounds, you need to change the sport you watch.

As long as enough Brits keep believing that, the odds are extremely good for Golovkin betters. keep it up :good
