What the hell is Haymon smoking? Is he trying to get his whole roster KTFO or badly exposed before they can even get their feet wet in the pro game? He feeds Jamel Herring to a beast like Shafikov, he had to know the probable outcome. He's feeding Jamal James to Wale Omotoso tomorrow, that probably won't end well for the glass jawed James. And now Pedraza has supposedly been offered a chance to fight TMT wunderkind Gervonta Davis in September, I think the kid's got some talent, but he's also showed his limitations in recent matches, Pedraza would probably be a tough test for guys like Corrales, Walters and possibly even Lomachenko, so this kid probably has no chance whatsoever. This is a potential colossal **** up and a major league derailing of one of America's half way decent prospects, and for what reason?
Haymon probably just cleaning house. There are enough guys signed to him that he can afford to match some of them aggressively to see if they're worth the paydays he's promising them (and the paydays he's giving them in the process of potentially getting exposed are collateral damage he's willing to eat, because again, he just has so damn many boxers)
Floyd's guys aren't really protected. One lost the other night. :conf (Thomas Hill, to Madman Hernandez)
What do you want, Gervonta Davis Bum of the Month matches? Gervonta needs to step it up. His opponents aren't very good.
Try a gradual build, the kid's 21, test the waters with Oquendo or Barros or Cruz, Pedraza is way too big a step up at this point. Or have a prospect vs. prospect match with him against the overrated Omar Douglas.
Well you have to find out whether they can swim.eventually. Surely this is a good thing. As for Haymon. Why would he care? Pedraza is his guy too
Do you even believe that? Pedraza is good for about 4 rounds and then he just gets sloppy. I don't think he sees the final bell vs either of those 3. Back to the topic though, yes its a step up for Davis. But this is what baxing's about, proving yourself.
