It's not just the "business side"

Surely some of you HAVE to realize that the only time Showtime and HBO fighters actually fight each other is if it's a huge $$ event. Think Lewis/Tyson and Paq/Floyd.

GGG/Lara are NEVER going to fight regardless of who calls out who on twitter or elsewhere as long as both are under contract to rival Networks.

Lara and GGG's promoters know this.

Surely some of you guys have been fans of boxing long enough to know this as well.

Lara and GGG COMBINED don't make enough $$ or have enough leverage to make this fight happen.

Neither network is going to let their guy fight on the other network.

 

I don't think it is all of GGGs fans just the fan club who only allow for the circumstances GGGs PR team dreams up for them. There are plenty of GGG fans calling this fight for what it is and who are actual boxing fans who see both sides of GGG s career. Unfortunately it is the fan club who likes to sit on here all day talking about their man crush.

I get other people use things like networks and purses to justify decisions etc, but if a man isn't fighting the best possible opponent I remain unhappy.

Of course Lara is a better fight than Brook.

I'm also a fan of competitive fights and I'm not happy with Brook. But I don't see how he's getting all of this heat when Brook is a last minute replacement after he couldn't negotiate with 4 other MW's.

Neither Lara or Jacobs could have made HBO's date, and GG would have been foolish to turn down Hearn's last minute offer.
