I got Postol by late stoppage, Gamboa rocking him badly in the 9th before he got KO'd looms large in my mind. I don't think Postol will push the pace at all, forcing Bud to be the aggressor and it'll end up playing right into Postol's machine gun counter punching hands.

Hmm. I dunno, to my reckoning Gamboa even above his peak weight is probably more explosive than Postol (though Vik is the naturally far bigger man and his pop is underrated).

I think Crawford has a better chin than Lundy whom Postol schooled (on an unmotivated lackluster night for hank) but never had in any serious trouble.

I wonder if W.Buffett will be in attendance, he is a huge fan of TC's, both from Omaha/Nebraska. Buffett always attends TC's Omaha fights. Wonder if he'll make the trip.

Guess it depends on whether he can afford the plane ticket/find any good deals on Expedia. :conf

You sure you can't do more RBR's?

And have you started becoming serious on your boxing training?

I think his size and reach advantage will play a huge factor here, Matthysse looked like a midget against Viktor, Crawford is basically the same size as Lucas, Crawford has never had to deal with a fighter like Postol, and if a fighter like Matthysse who's seen it all, definitely far more diversity in his resume than Bud's, and he couldn't figure out Postol, I don't think Crawford will either. He'll probably do better than Matthysse, but not by much.

And do you think Lundy could survive against this Roach trained version of Postol, who's clearly been sitting down on his shots a little more under Freddie's tutelage. Crawford isn't going to be facing the Lundy version he'll be facing the new one.

This fight is as 50/50 as 50/50 gets, and I have no idea what the oddmakers and many posters on here are thinking dismissing Postol so easily.

I'm going with Crawford by KO. Great fight. Both should be commended for making it quickly when the public wanted it.

I am torn with this one. I am an EE but I always liked Crawford. Going with TC on points.

1.) Were you serious about the Duran v Chavez exhibition?

2.) I think Postol has enough power to discourage Bud, and win by decision

3.) Are you going to make a comeback like floyd and only do RBR's for the biggest and best PPV matchups? Or are you retired like, say Barry Sanders who never sniffed at a comeback

1.) Haven't followed up on the story since making this thread but by all accounts that was quite serious, per Fat Dan and the rest of the boxing media.

2.) I don't see Bud tasting too much of Postol's power, as he is highly adaptable and doesn't make a regular habit of sittng idly eating 1-2s or wading in recklessly down the center lane.

3.) TBD. Current leaning, the latter.

Postal has to win by knockout because Crawford owns the judges, referee, boxing commission, etc. Wonder if Crawford is looking past this fight?

Not only is Durán vs. Chávez still on, per an ESPN Mexico article from a few weeks ago, but we're seemingly also getting Michael Carbajal vs. Humberto González IV!!! (unofficially; another exhibition) :ibutt
