Let's imagine WBO belt holder Liam Smith surprises us all and easily outboxes a ponderous Canelo.

How many rounds would he have to win clearly to get a decision against Golden Boy's Golden Boy?

At least 11. If he only wins 10 he will get a draw.

we would need to introduce 15 rounds back into boxing for that to happen.

    Smith is getting KO'd.

But to entertain the question... Liam would HAVE to make the fight 100% lopsided in order to get a decision scoring a KD'n would help.
(My honest guess would be 8rds of smacking Canelo around not in a jabbing contest either... That crowd don't want to see that)

Let's not pretend like this new to the sport. (Scorcards) it's just the way sh*t is.

Mayweather did get a draw on one card, and he is a huge name. Smith is a no name, all 3 cards will be the same.

I agree Smith is nigh on guaranteed to get stopped, I was just throwing a whatif scenario out there because I can't see Canelo having a fight scored against him unless he got beaten from pillar to post for 12 rounds.

Smith looks like a big strong sturdy fighter for 154. Canelo might gwt upset if he comes in drained to the gills

He'll have to fire a few rounds at Canelo to get a decision win.

Smith would need to spark Canelo Marquez-style to get a draw
