Isn't Teper still banned? As for Miller he's garbage and won't really help Parker prepare for someone like Joshua. Pulev is too much of a risk to be honest. He has his mandatory shot, they are not going to risk a potentially big payday against the cash cow Joshua by facing a weak drawing fighter like Pulev for peanuts. Dimitrenko has the size that Parker will need to deal with against Joshua, has a decent enough looking record for the casuals and isn't too much of a threat. He's a suitable opponent for Parker at this time, won't be a threat but can take Parker some rounds.
is it me or but parker seems to be fighting a lot this year it seems. its like he's trying to squeeze in as many as opponents as possible before the joshua fight lol.
Dimitrenko has a glass chin, Parker would knock him out, but a good tuneup for his fight with Joshua............
ummm... all these Big Fat Babies... like Miller... need to fight each other!! :deal I'm sick and tired of all these guys avoiding each other like they have Ebola... all that Hype around Briggs vs Gaye and now nothing but Crickets Chirping... Dimitrenko and Ustinov have been scheduled to fight everyone on the map and then nothing........ these guys need to stop padding their records with Buffet Gobbling Cab Drivers and fight each other already before the fans switch to WWE for their Gladiator entertainment!! or UFC... make these fights happen... Big Fat Baby vs Pulev Kong vs Ustinov or Joshua Parker vs Dimitrenko Briggs vs Gaye Ruiz Jr. vs Arreola (tune-up for Deonkey) and throw in... Teper vs Takam and why not Povetkin vs Joshua? or mix and match this crowd as long as they fight each other rather than Bombay Cabbies!! set the fights for October so all the babies have plenty of time to get ready! no excuses for the KTFO victims... :burger
Dimitrenko has a bad chin and is very weak-hearted, but the boxing fundamentals are very good. He has the size of AJ. There is no better "test" for a strategy vs. AJ than Dimitrenko. Of course Parker will win this, but the question is can he negate the jab and movement of Dimitrenko from the opening round on. If Parker can't evade big punches from Dimitrenko (who is feather-fisted), how will he evade AJ's crushing blows?
Remember when a barely over cruiserweight Chambers walked him down and beat him pretty clearly? I do understand Team Parker is in a difficult situation. They don't want to get to risky with their opponent choice seeing they are guaranteed a title shot but at the same time Joe clearly needs some polishing against guys who are a lot better than the Haumono's and Bergman's of the world.
Agreed. Although Dimitrenko is not much of a threat, at least it's a chance for Parker to get used to fighting someone the size of Joshua. I'm ok with this one.
