Do you think his ring accomplishments merit it, or is he one of those "good, but not great" cases like Donald Curry?

Don King is in, so the bar is pretty low unless cheating fighters is a qualification.

No, but if Ray Mancini and Barry McGuigan are in then....................

His ring acomplishements were at least on par with theirs, and Curry's were above both of them.

As one poster said, selection is obviously not just based on ring accomplishments

Almost! If there isn't enough future talent, he'll get in someday.

He's one of my favourite ever fighters, but strictly speaking I think he just missees out.
I think if he'd kept himself on the straight and narrow outside of the ring he could certainly have ended up in there.

I don't think he would have made it past Victor Galindez.

Maybe , maybe not, but he would have given him a very interesting evening.

Yeah, that's true,...I just think that Victor was a more consistent, less fragile, established champion...and vs a high profile opponent, which Conteh was BTW, Galindez would bring extra fire, like he did in that rematch with Rossman (I'm not comparing Rossman with Conteh by the way, but he motivated Victor for that rematch).

Seen this thread for a while just don't know how to respond.

I'm gonna say yeah based on the fact that Conteh at his best can give any LHW a run for their money.
