    Gvozdyk is harrying Karpency with the jab, forcing him to shuffle around the ring, attempting to pick off what he can on his out-turned palms. Gvozdyk is driving his right fist across the eye socket of Karpency, landing with his wrist as much as the glove. Karpency turns away, clutching at his eye. Straight right on the breadbasket from Gvozdyk. Karpency takes a full count on his knees!

    That skewering body shot would have definitely hurt no matter what, but not sure it would've produced a knockdown under normal circumstances; I think Karpency just wanted to get out after the eye rub.

    Karpency's definitely better than he's credited for being. He's no world beater but he throws some very nice educated counters and he's only been stopped legitimately by Stevenson who has savage KO power. Karpency was causing Fonfara big problems and had him in real trouble at one point in their fight too before the freak injury and Cleverly said he (Karpency) was the hardest puncher he'd fought - that was pre Kovalev of course lol. Talk of Gvozdyk being ready for a title shot against the likes of Stevenson and Kovalev is definitely premature he still needs more experience.
