As each round goes on, each time this moves to the ropes Santana is landing more and more. It was one punch per flurry or two early on, it's not two or three thudding punches per flurry and Benavidez still thinks he's fighting well here.

If he loses a decision here based on Santanas volume he won't have anyone to blame but himself.

    Round 7

Benavidez is having difficulty breathing yet able to roam clear along the perimeter, making Santana chase and whiff. Benavidez just sticking the odd jab, no longer getting in the counters with starch on them from earlier, not even trying with the uppercut anymore. Santana, however, failing to cut the ring off and land cleanly. Benavidez, tired as he is, just ghosting and giving him no target.

    10-9 Benavidez

    67-66 Benavidez

I haven't seen Crawford fought anyone bigger than him where he has to give up height or reach. He's going to have to adjust a bit against Postol. Crawford can get reckless sometimes, but when he's focused on defense, he's fairly difficult to land on.

he actually appears to know how to win -- by avoiding the ropes, but he doesn't want to.

    Round 8

Benavidez is jabbing past Santana's throat, missing. Santana is bursting inside with lead hooks and chopping with the right, scoring at least one power shot obliquely in each sequence, albeit partly deflected or stuffed in between chin & shoulder like a wedge. Santana is rocked back from a scooping Benavidez right hand off the ropes but immediately surges forward to rally with a volley of wide hooking taps on either side.

    10-9 Santana

    76-76
