JJ...hit much harder per single shot than The Beast...would ko the beast in half the time that Hagler did.

I think the beast walks Jackson down.
The reason? his chin was mega up until Hagler wore it down over a very long period. Which means in a bomb for bomb situation he 'might' have been able to take Jacksons shots and got him out of there.
It's a toss up this fight.

I go with Jackson, as I think he hits much harder, which is really saying something 'cause Mugabi could really punch.

I think Jackson was one the hardest punchers of all time, if not THE HARDEST puncher of all time.

Jackson probably hit a bit harder but mugabi was a better fighter all round .Jackson without his power would be a journey man and he wouldn't have took hagler deep like John did .could go either way but I favor mugabi.

I'd go with Mugabi prior Hagler. Mugabi was a tough s.o.b before Hagler ruined him. He also survived a early beat down to James Green, before walking him down in the 10th rd. Don't recall Jackson ever coming back to win a fight. (note I'm sure it happened, just don't remember it) So Id lean slightly to Mugabi. BUT wouldn't be shocked or surprised Jackson knocks him out.

Jackson will pick Mugabi apart, Mugabi wasn't as calm and schooled as Jackson, Jackson technique was flawless, fireworks early but later the Hawk takes the beast out.

This is how I see it too. But, Mugabi would certainly be a live dog.

    Probably Jackson

Prime for prime it's a good matchup.

Both had huge power and both could be hurt.

Actually, a first round ko either way could happen.

I doubt it would go past 5 rounds.

Both men had enough power to stop the other and neither ever really exemplified true durability. Sure Mugabi stood up to some punishment from a declining Hagler, but one showing ( and against an aging opponent ) doesn't convince me that he was significantly the more durable. Jackson was the better fighter and proved it by beating better comp. Who's the best fighter Mugabi ever beat? Renee Jocquot?

Hell. I think Green and Parker were better than Jacquot. Jacquot got lucky when he beat a faded Donald Curry.

Inchul Baek, Herol Graham, Buster Dreyton and even a green Terry Norris were better scalps than any Mugabi acquired.
