We're not talking about "these giants." We're talking about Tyson Fury. He is a big, strong guy. He does throw heaving, clubbing shots. He does have a long, strong jab. He does have good movement (compared to heavys from 1900). And 180 pound fighters aren't going to shove him around. All big men aren't like that. Mike The Giant White wasn't particularly good. James J. Beattie wasn't particularly good. Tyson Fury is very good.
throwing someone into 20 rds with jeffries in his environment is a big ask but he'd be fav in every other fight. i wouldn't be surprised if someone stops him, but i'd still pick him for the rematch. putting him in old footwear then straight in the ring isn't good for him.
Were Talking about Fury and he's is one of those giants who get so overrated and no he does not have a good jab or movement. The fact anyone thinks so is sad. Those 180 pounders aren't going to worry about shoving him around there going to box him.
imo he has a good jab. he clearly has a good enough jab to trouble men with shorter reach who have never fought anyone like that before.
who is it bad compared too? i'd agree it's bad compared to pep or holmes, but those are elite and i just called his good.
He ended Wlad Klitschko's 10-year reign with basically just a jab. Please post film of John L. Sullivan's great jab (since he's your namesake), Jim Corbett's great jab, Bob Fitszimmons' great jab, Jim Jeffries' great jab, Marvin Hart's great jab, Tommy Burns' great jab, Jack Johnson's great jab ... All the guys who were going to outjab 6'9" 85-inch reach, moving target Tyson Fury?
Beating a 39 year old Klit isn't impressive especially one that seemed to forgot how to box in one night. Please post film of Fury's "great" jab. Especially one where he's "moving" in a way that is graceful and not like a chicken with his head cut off and maybe one where he doesn't look like a 40 year old guy with a beer belly.
Its just not a good jab same way Carnera's or Willard's aren't good jabs. Calling it good is being generous.
is it more likely that a very consistent world champ forgot how to fight or that you are confusing a lack of grace and general ugliness with a lack of ability?
I'll go with Dubbelchin on this one. He'd probably reign for as long as he'd be bothered to, and people would call him a "once in a century genetic freak" and rave about how unbeatable he was. He'd probably top HW lists instead of Ali.
You're talking in circles. Who were the great jabbers in 1900? Who was going to outjab the 6'9", 85-inch, 245 pound, moving Tyson Fury?
Wlad Klitschko's jab was his primary weapon for a decade. Fury outjabbed Klitschko. Post a video of all the guys in 1900 you feel would outjab the 6'9", 85-inch reach, 245 pound, moving Tyson Fury?
