I haven't watched enough of either to make an honest call. Tempted to say Charles but anybody that can put Louis on a stretcher deserves a second look.

I think Charles would outbox Max...he was more mobile, more of a definitive "modern fighter" than Schmeling. Ezz would outbox, outspeed, and I think would be sufficiently defensive and mobile to avoid getting hurt by the German's vaunted right hand. A 15 round decision for Charles,...especially the '49-'50 versions of Ezz.

Prime Schmeling was a great fighter and in this matchup the harder puncher. I see a back and forth battle with the stronger and harder punching German coming on strong late for the decision win.

Charles on a 15 round decision in what could be, at times, a chess match. Not a bore mind you, but a thinking fighter's match. Not as exciting as your proposed Charles-Sharkey match but a good match.

I agree scartissue,...I think it would indeed be a chess match, which spelled doom for those fans who love rock-em sock-em action (I, on the other hand love chess matches, ala Pastrano-Johnson), but both men were inherently cautious...withn the more mobile and sophisticated Charles edging into the lead and keeping that lead for a unanimous 15 round points win.

If a past prime Charles can go toe to toe with Rocky Marciano for 15 rounds then a prime Charles would have been able to last against Frazier no problem. Marciano is 10x the fighter Frazier was. All Frazier had was a great left hook. Marciano could hit you with anything and hurt ya.

The joe frazier of 1971 destroys marciano every day in the week,he was better than marciano in every single departament except right hand, frazier was bigger, faster and stronger, better cutting Then ring, harder to outbox than the dumb marciano,in fact was impossible to outbox Prime frazier, frazier was better pressure fighter, better inside puncher,he had much better defence and move of head,in few words, charles would not see the rounds 3 with frazier.my dear CLOWN go to watch tennis because you know **** about boxing
