is kell brook the best at 147?

    I think brook is pretty talented...he has some good physical attributes and isn't a bad boxer at all

    but can anyone, with any certainty, call him the best at 147?

    there are guys like Thurman, Garcia and spence there...whom are all pretty talented......and then theres a guy like bradley

    brook has a win over porter...which is good...nice....porter is a tough one....but other than that there isn't much of anything there.....

    was just over checking out the scene and noticed tom loeffler call brook "the best at 147"

    what exactly as he done at 147 to make him "the best"

    I understand selling the fight....but this is part of what makes many think the guys in golovkins camp are delusional....brook has done nothing to separate himself from the pack at 147 or call him the best

    not trying to start a ****storm....just curious as to why one could try to call him that...

    also curious....loeffler noted there was a size difference.....I found it odd that ggg wore a t shirt and brook wore a tight suit to their press conference....seems strange....sanchez seem to think there was no size difference and brook would be as big, if not bigger, on fightnight

    im intrigued

    Certainly not the most accomplished, but you can say he's the best H2H.

    I believe he's 1a or 1b at WW along with Thurman. I believe both are better than Pac (at this stage) and Bradley.

    you think brook is better than Bradley right now? I dunno...maybe

    I mean h2h saying youd pick brook over any guy in the division right now....that's an opinion....and I couldn't say you would be wrong.....its very possible

    just seems a bit much to say hes the best...almost with a certainty to it

    Having seen Thurman over his last three fights I have no doubt 100% Kell is far better. Thurman is another American hype a little like Wilder.

    Thurman slugged it out with porter...not hugged it out.....if that's your opinion that's ok...but theres nothing definitive on the resume to suggest brook is better

    I don't think brook is better than pac or Bradley at this point either imo

    but those are just opinions...im just wondering how loeffler can make this statement

    This is worthy of discussion without becoming another 'I hate/love GGG' thread.

    I don't rate Thurman or Garcia as highly as many others do so would say yes. Spence and Crawford will also soon be in the mix too.

    147 is really tough to call. Realistically, I have to say Pac because of how easily he just dealt with Bradley...again. i would have had Bradley as my top guy at 147 otherwise. Spence potentially could be the best currently but it's difficult to say that with certainty. I think Thurman/Porter/Brook are all of a similar level, maybe Thurman has the slightly higher ceiling as Brook's main asset is his size which I think would have soon forced him up to 154 anyways.

    I could agree with that

    and realistically..in agreeing with that....you could say maybe brook is the 3rd to 5th best 147 lb in the world?

    so why is loeffler calling him the best 147lber in the world?

    I posted in a previous thread how Kell's first fight with Carson Jones was the making of him because he had already been warned by the Ingles and Hearne's about dedication to training and diet and he had the scare of his life and that made him go to the well and smell the coffee. He needed that and has not looked back since. As I have said, nobody looks good against porter and he is a major cuts hazard because he bores in with his head so anybody who negates that by whatever means needs a slap on the back.

    My personal opinion, absolutely. He could well be the best but he might well be the 5th best, I hope he comes back to 147 to fight Spence afterwards so we know a bit more.

    He's trying to sell the fight, that's part of his job. Some people will be of the opinion that he is though, mostly guys in the UK who are going to be the ones paying for the tickets.

    imo loeffler making this fight already makes him look bad...but trying to sell brook as the best at 147 is just trying to insult us even more
