If Kovalev held girls captive, pimped them out, threatened them with knives, raped them, and was the enforcer for a drug dealer and pimp of underage girls, rest assured I'd hate him too.

Kovalev injured someone in the ring which led to a death, it was anything but intentional, what are you an idiot?

    And its psychopath.

...not to mention prayed for him in seclusion for weeks afterward, contemplating giving up on his promising career due to all the guilt he felt...and has since donated two purses (in their entirety) to Simakov's family in addition to offering to pay to fly them out to where they fought to recover his body.

Warren Buffet or Michael Bloomberg could wipe out Murdoch's entire net worth in a poker game, with their pocket change. (both several times richer than him...or him and Trump combined, for that matter)

Why can't they all be cool billionaires? :-(

Or rather, why can't the cool ones just use their powers to neuter the shitty ones? (buy & dissolve their companies, etc)

Exactly, anyone who could equate the two are completely irrational.

For those who haven't seen the ESPN piece on Kovalev, here it is.

I think it is just strange and unsettling. Many fighters are never the same after causing their opponent serious injury or death. Kovalev on the other hand still delights in punishing his opponents and talks of seriously injuring them.

Good thing the SOG has been sent from the heavens to clean this division of all the filth that currently inhabit it.

Add Ted Turner, Bill Gates, Mark Cuban and Richard Branson in as well. Although sadly the Walton family alone who are all worth about 30 billion a piece could probably bail Murdoch out.

Trump isn't that bad. He said he's voted for Democrats more than he has Republicans, I have my fingers crossed he's just playing a role here. And no I'm not voting for him.:D

That's actually pretty admirable professionalism on his part to be able to compartmentalize and keep both things separate. He clearly has always taken his role in the Simakov tragedy very seriously, but he still maintains his fierce competitive edge in a bloodsport. Not many people would be mentally strong enough to strike that balance.

    LMAO

The goal is to hurt the other guy to submission or knock the other guy out.

If you can't handle that aspect of the sport you need to find another sport to follow.

Fair enough. Indeed it takes seriously mental strength to continue on after such a tragedy and courage. I still find it unsettling to watch some of his work due to his past but, like you said, it is a bloodsport.

Of course Superman has no redeeming qualities at all; other than the fact he fights out of Canada :rofl
