Well people thought Floyd lost to Castillo, because of compubox... I guess it's fair, no?

    Name a greater FW debut.

...and before anyone says Pac vs. Barrera I, bear in mind that wasn't his debut at the weight. :nono

He fought Serikzhan Yeshmagambetov and was dropped in the 4th but got up to stop the Kazakh journeyman in the next round..

Of course it is.. it's the same people you just spoke of that went off of compubox to justify a Castillo win. And you were probably one of them. Lol

Defense is not ring generalship. It is a matter of controlling the pace, geography of the ring, and maintaining a comfortable position for one's style of fighting.

Broner had decent defense against Porter (he avoided plenty of shots and was never hit too cleanly), but no one would say he had ring generalship. Similar thing happened hear. Frampton had good defense, but he certainly wasn't close to taming Santa Cruz.

I never use compubox and I hate the fact it is constantly used as a method to justify results. Very deceiving.

When did I say they were the same thing? Pay attention. I cited them as two additonal, SEPARATE factors in scoring along with clean punches landed and effective (being the key word) aggression.

Crazy thing is, after the co-feature this didn't have the look of a thread destined to reach over a thousand replies. It still had well under 500. (main events - even good ones, generally generate in the vicinity of 400ish)

This was a good enough fight to, from ring walks on, bolster this up over that mark on its own with 600 (and counting).

Imagine the undercard hadn't been mostly shit!

Some people use it to score fights or justify scores in fights. It's like any stat in sports, on its own its largely meaningless. It's there to provide a quick bit of insight by the commentators when talking us through the fight.

I never thought Frampton would be the one to expose Santa Cruz. That high volume doesn't mean sh!t if you aren't landing punches. Those replays between rounds were comical with hardly a thing landing. Frampton should avoid Russell Jr.
