I liked him, did well and is definately more knowledgeable than Halling. My one gripe is that he hasn't got an iconic voice like someone like Darke but I suppose it takes time for people to nostalgically associate your voice with something.
He's solid. Certainly better than Halling. He is a freelancer though so he could be gone at any time.
Oh is he. Thornpipe put a link up and it suggested Adam Booth and Carl Froch are going to be replacing him. Surely they'd need a proper commentator aswell.
If this was guy the other day the way he was hyping up Dillian Whytes performance and skill set was laughable
Improvement on Halling, but that's hardly praise. The years of top class commentators like Harry Carpenter and Don Dunphy are long gone. Dave Farrar on Channel 5 is about the best available in the UK today.
No need Fibbsy - he must have been a stand in while they negotiate a deal with a proper boxing commentator. If he is still there commenting on the next Tony Dosh v A Pudding fight then I will sign your petition.
Ok can I come to your house in Hammersmith to watch Joshua next fight, I am poor and cant afford ppv mate.
I'm very happy because Halling had to go, he was awful, Clarke was good Saturday night, he was sensible, sounded knowledgeable and worked well with the co commentator. The card wasn't exactly spectacular, it was rather boring and he called it how he saw it without getting over excited or trying to tell us things that simply were not happening. I think he will grow in to it and be even better the longer he is there.
What I liked most about Clarke was that he wasn't afraid to have an opinion on boxnation fighters/shows I can't see sky taking to kindly to that though.
No way I am wearing my trousers back to front for anyone and you would need to stand on a chair to shag me Fibbsy
